Right o, I've always used my HDTV for my pc, well as long as i've had it (the tv) and i can run at 1280x1024 now surely i should be able to set up the HD format via Nvid CP? Everytime i try it just bitches at me and gives me nothing. Am i wasting my time trying to set it up through that and better just sticking to what i'm at?
I'm using a DVI to HDMI adapter and HDMI into my tv, no better result using composite, or even at all?
Ta V much

It
should be easy enough to do.
what error messages are you getting?
edit:
http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=493566 may be handy, also, nvidia has a display setup wizard somewhere in the control-labyrinth

Er, I maybe missing the point of the post here, but HDTV for all that it sounds like motherfucking sex on a telly is only 1280x720 no? monitors do far higher res because games can do that shizzle, but tv programs are sent out only so big because of how big they are no?
I am in fact wrong, 1920x1080 is the res of 1080p, thats not bad. I'm thinking that your problem is using the nvidia contol panel, I'd stick with using the windows display properties thingy, I find the nvidia control panel to be a bit picky.

Open the in game console, should be 'ctrl-alt-~'
Then copy/paste -
'r_aspectratio 1; r_customwidth xxxx*; r_customheight xxxx*; r_mode -1; vid_restart'
and hit enter.
That should set you up for whatever res you want.
*obviously dont put xxxx, put the right numbers for your res
