Assuming the worst and best of things, if Eve has lost all player data, and to smooth over customer relations CCP offered all current players a year of playtime, what would you recreate your character as?

I think I would become a missioner/salvager. After reaching T2 BS fittings, (and AF's, HAC's, and Command ships) I would start into production and build rigs and ships. This would also allow for pvp more readily than switching from industry into pvp. Also, avoiding all those industry skills would give me a little room to tweak starting stats toward the skills for a good mission ship and T2 fits. If I had a second account, I'd make them the industry toon. No more does-everything-Dres.

Night Elf Rogue, or a Tarutaru Red Mage.

Actually, I'm ok with my toons. Aki has a few unneeded skills but it's only a few hundred k SP. Akiki is still a wip and coming along nicely.

I go learning skills and aim for HAC's straight away alongside t2 weaponry, then once I'd hammered out all the Electronics, Gunnery etc that is needed to fly a HAC properly, I'd hammer lvl 3's and lvl 4's for dosh.

Reason being is that by aiming for HAC's gives me pretty good all round skillset to transfer to other ships.

Oh, and I'd spec in Gallente first, rather than having having my skills mixed accross 2 races.

I don't know how CCP could respond if 'the worst' actually happened.

I don't know what i'd do narf. I'd prolly train for capitals again one at least one of my toons... The bitch of it all would be isk. I have been living off my 'nest egg' for going on a year and don't have the time to earn it like everyone else. If I lost my pile of isk I might just stop playing (ok, stop changing skills, the RPG).

When everyone was going "ZOMG ROLLBACK" I was thinking "fuck, I just got recons V" then thought "that would be fun", then realised I didn't care either way

I'd sell my year's playtime and give the ISK to the corp. Aiming for new goals is the only thing that keeps me subscribed, to have to do them again, albeit much more efficiently, doesn't interest.

Perhaps more in line with what you were asking, though - what I'd do differently would be to build up gunnery and shield/armour skills more consistently with what I was trying to fly, rather than going all-out getting the skills to fly X type of ship, then not being able to do very much in it.
