Just got done playing it.
the Single player seems it'll probably rock, and i expect the multi will too.

What a coincidence... I'm downloading DOD source and COD2 demo at the same time!!
The universe may implode.

Has anybody got a link to something that's faster than 16KB/s?
I've done several direct downloads, and the fastest so far has been a torrent from mininova

Very nice. Was it just me, or was there no Running or Grenade Cooking?. Stand by for COD2:UO!

sprint was there (i think), not sure about nade cooking,

There's no binds in options for Sprint.
As for cooking- there's certainly no crosshair pulsing going on.
Ah well, I don't think it'll take long for someone to mod that in.
It really does look very nice though, and it runs very nicely. I'm impressed.

I thought it was quite funny looking around after a each little battle and seeing a pile of dead NPC all around me

I loved it!
Took me a fucking age to get used to the controls, so I changed the weapon select to the mouse wheel up or down.
Not keen on the nade using the middle mouse button.
I hope they change it so you can switch to it in the weapon select, or else my kill count will be utterly shit in COD2
The lack of a sprint button seemed a bit weird, but then again, it might be something they have in multiplayer only, as it might of created a "sprint through the level" type scenario on the single player game.
It's great because it feels like COD, but it's slightly different, and looks fantastic.
Very clever timing releasing the demo just as DOD:S is released.

This demo, my friends, if fucking awesome.
I really can't wait for the full game. And I love the new control styles, its perfect for me with my uber-sensitive scroll wheel. Just tap up and down (or 1 and 2) to change weapon.
The only thing (not that it makes a good game) is I couldn't really spot any graphical improvement, unless thats just my aging hardware.
*edit also: no ragdolls?
Damn, my money's already out of my pocket. Oh and I liked the door bit too

i was shocked at the lack of a fire rate changermagig, but as soon as i found the karsk and mp40 i was right at home. good idea how the crosshairs disapear when you start running, but its so sly it took a while for me to notice

Demo was pretty good but i didnt think much of the graphics and they didnt seem to look any different no matter what setting i put it on.
Also, i'm sure a lot of you will disagree but i thought forcing directx 7 made it look a lot nicer and made the textures look sharper.

I've seen someone mention the DX7 thing before- textures under DX9 were very blurred indeed.
Not sure what the cause is though, because things looked fantastic from where I was sitting!
edit: yum.

Maybe its a driver problem, i'll update to the newest drivers and see what happens.

How much video memory do you have? Apparently it like to use a lot, and adjusts the quality if it can't get it. If you know how to allow it to use your system RAM, should you have some spare, then that may help.
