Mining Guide

This Mining Guide (.pdf) is rather good. Worth a read for all miners, wether new or experienced.

Couple of things I've picked up from it:

All refiners in NR should plug in a Hardwiring – Zainou ‘Beancounter’ H60. It reduced waste by 4% and will give you 98.4% net yield in the refinery with Ore Proc 4 or 99.9% with perfect skills (less taxes of course).

Gypsy' KMB-3 (I think) that gives you extra cpu may allow you to fit to MLU2 to a mackinaw. Not sure on that though. It does allow you to fit 2 onto a covetor, but you might has well fly a hulk which can fit 2 anyway!

Suggested Hulk tank (I think we already know this, but apparently you can get away with best named T1 hardeners?): 1x Gistii-A Small Shield Booster 1x Eutectic Cap Recharger 2x Gist-B NPC Specific Hardeners Lows- 2x MLU

At current prices (it's a recent update), the guide reckons you can get more isk per hour out of Bistot than Ark. Although ofc we get hit with those damn taxes again, we're still talking 35mill an hour in a Hulk with good skills. Incidentally that would roughly match what we mined this weekend, given that we sucked as much Gneis as Bistot.

Rorqual can 'siege' inside a POS bubble 8) :boogie:

That guide is very good indeed.

A lot of time and effort went into that!

...possibly too much time to be considered healthy, narf, but I'll stillrun with it

and PDFs are good coz I can erady them at work without attracting too much attention :ninja:

Woo, Halada's back! Halada is to mining what DrukenOne is to Minmatar ship fittings. A fucking Legend :)

Last thing I knew, he'd left the game after the calapse of ASCN and was trying to sell the character, so sweet that he didn't.

Shiny! I can see it being used to sit in belt and collect cans for a single hauler then, which just hauls to the POS. Using a rigged Iteron and cans it could probably keep up with 5-6 Hulks this way, and the Rorqual could siege away at the POS. ofc, a freighter could move the ore just as easily then. Of course, you can't jump a freighter, so it'd be hard to move to where we want to use it anyway.

Here's a question, which is smaller to move, compressed ore, or refined minerals? I don't know the refine rates to figure that one....

Wasn't there something about converting them to an tractor beam-type item somewhere, then melting them down at the other end?

That's about to get an almighty nerf via increasing the size of t1 items so they're more representative of the amount of minerals insude. Named and T2 won't be effected, but it's going to hit 0.0 ratting in the wallet (again :() unless you've a mate/alt following behind in a hauler looting everything.

After that, compressed ore by a longshot.

I'm a bit surprised that it didn't talk about the composition of a corp mining op, since it's a valid topic for planning ship training. If you can get your noobs into haulers quickly, they have a way to participate/contribute while they train for exhumers. The path to an Iteron V is ALOT shorter than the path to a T2 fitted Hulk, and it can make a huge difference on an op. Not to mention the topics I've learned from Dolly, like organizing asteroid targetting to maximize cycle efficiency between pilots and such.

Also, in gang environments like we had this weekend, shield drones are awesome additions for tanking, we tanked Sunday's op in exhumers, adding yet another set of lasers to the field that would have gone to a tank ship otherwise. If people could train those up for 0.0, twould be worth while as well.

Or just use some of the large piles of isk your amassing to buy a gisti/pithi a-type small shield booster :)

How much do they run? I've heard people talk about their billion isk Hulk fit, so I thought my 88mil liquid isk and 200 mil in mineral reserve wasn't even close yet.

If I can afford it now, I'd love to! But I thought I'd have about 500 mil to go....

I'd hazard 200 for the gisti and 300 for the pithi, based on contracts

Dres - I paid 200mill for my Pith-a (admittedly a few months back) you just have to watch those auctions. If you go for the Pith-a, you'll probably also need a couple of CCC rigs which adds another 40 - 50 mill to your fitting price.

The pretty part there is I've built 3 CCC rigs out there, I just need another drone encounter to get the bits I need for more. Sadly, the first day out there I got a chained encounter which netted me lots of meltable alloys and rig bits, and ever since I've not been able to find one. My hope had been to build about 10 CCC's and use the isk from selling them to buy the tank I need!

CCC rigs u want bloods not drones, yes drones give what u need but no where near bloods do. drones/angels what u want for cargo rigs

5% hardwires are 79.5 mil and 79.5k LP, going rate for LP is 1000k isk per 1 LP so your looking at 150-160 mil on market with out uber inflation. Us mission runners can get them for you if your nice to us and pete your not on my favorite list :P but on my above ok list :P so you'll get charged for then frizi or hulky but less then general public. let us know what type is needed and it will be done. i have some mining implants in goram already just not sure which ones.

depending on which one will mean which agents we work for. the 2 agent corps i mainly use have 90% of all 5% implants in game. Dark Danvaliyn is the same as me for the above statement.
