OK, I bought this for $10 on Newegg on a whim, and the fact that I haven't used a mouse pad in about a year and I wanted to know if it would actually help. I have to say, this pad has a great feel to it. The friction level is almost perfect and the pad doesn't slip. It's also as big as a letter-sized sheet of paper so I don't run out of pad hardly ever. The only question for me is, is this worth the premium over a normal pad? At $10, I'd probably say yes. It feels worlds better than on a dinner table or my desk, and I'm sure that weird pattern they have on it has some advantage. For the money, I say it's a buy.

Intricate high-contrast patterns usually help high res scanners in optical mice well.. Scan better. The only thing I don't like is the sharp edge that my wrist sometimes hangs off.. For some reason X-Trac sell wristbands for this though.. Hmm.. Suspicious!

That's like selling pies, mentioning its got poison in it.. And then saying you've just convenientlygot the antidote for sale! Pfft. It is good, though.

Do you find the lack of clicki-ness/sensitivity on the scroll wheel makes you switch several weapons more than you want to in games?

I had a wireless version of that mouse, but very quickly replaced it for a Logitech MX1000 after becoming more into games online...

Yes.
It fucking irritates me, but I've gotten used to it now. Mostly in CS my best friend is the Q key. Choose a secondary weapon (Grenade, the bomb, the pistol) messily with the scrollwheel and then just give Q a friendly tap to swap between them.

i have that keyboard too

very nice it is too, apart frm my spacebar sometimes adds too many spaces which can get very annoying.

I don't know how any of you can tell what the keyboard is. For your information it's a cheap brand called "PC Line" I got for a tenner. Works well enough, keys tap and depress nicely (None of that stupid feeling like you're pressing against a piece of cotton wool).

Ahh, my bad, I thought it was this one.

And I've made best friends with the Q/previous weapon key as well, in fact it really annoys me when I start playing a game without a previous weapon key

...Which is infact most games

I don't use my scroll wheel unless it's near the beginning of the round or I am somewhat certain that I won't see an enemy for a few seconds. In fact I really only use it to select my grenades. Otherwise I just use the number keys and q...

yea the scroll wheel on my mouse flicks through my arsenal about 50 times and ends up on the same weapon i started with so the number keys/q is my best friend

ahhh, i love my scroll wheel, it stops at a certain point, which just happens to be the next weapon

I so wish I had one that did that on purpose! Mine either goes in the direction I least suspect, or gets my fist or knife out.

Edit: (I use wheel-press-down for Back)

i have a great way to solve that

scroll down is pistol, scroll up is rifle, press wheel is knife. 4th button is nade

works a treat, always get what you want in notime.

While I won't sacrifice my press-wheel=back, and don't know what this fourth button of which you speak is, assigning scroll up/down to something specific does make sense.
