I know it's not a PC game, but would it be worth getting a forum going for it here as it's released in the UK tomorrow?

Yep, it's a good idea, but the question is, do we get rid of the old Halo forum?

I think we should!

We don't necessarily have to delete it, just rename the thing

I had a quick go on this last night and it looks a hell of a lot better than the first one

I like the dual weild option, and the scorpion tank is great.

The levels aren't as "same'y" as they used to be which is good.

All in all it looks like a blast, and I'm gonna give multiplayer a go later on this evening.

Now all we have to do is wait for it to come out on the PC to add it in here

Do I *neeeed* a starter kit, or can I take advantage of the two month demo without the headset etc?

Don't need the starter kit, no.
I don't use the headset much anyway, I feel like a complete twat talking to the TV.

Rah. I'll find my card and get a tag then.
Maybe tomorrow though, cause I've been playing all day and my fingers ache.

I seem to have lost half of my headset, so I cant use it now. Which is a shame, because on Big Team games you always do better when you've got one or two people roughly giving out orders, even if they are basic ones.

Another problem I have is I cant get my PC and xbox live on the net at the same time, so it;sone or the other. I think it's because a dog chewwed the end of the crossover cable I had.

And did I mention the ending is really fucking
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!?

Finished it last night.
I'd have to agree.

If Halo 3 isn't out in the next month or two, I'll be having anxiety attacks.

Well, can't even be sure if there will be a Halo 3, and if there is, it'll likely be for the next Xbox, so it'll be about 3 years away I'd guess.

according to Steve Ballmer, a guy at microsoft, bungie are allready working on halo 3.

according to Pete Parsons of Bungie, they are not doing Halo 3 as their next project, but as theres already a few hundred years of storyline worked out, and a film in the pipeline, i would think a third game is pretty likely. Eventually.

They had a huge amount of storyline worked out for their previous brilliant (or so I've been told, not been able to play it as they were mac games, but from what I've read the story was brilliant, and this is back in the days when the original Doom was being released, so they were way ahead the so called revolutionary Half Life which didnt even have much story to it) FPS series called Marathon, but when it came to the 3rd game they gave the project to someone else to do, and just kinda helped out with the story kind of thing, but even when that game was finished they still left a huge number of mysteries unsolved (if you want to see the huuuge amount of story they fitted into those games, just take a look at the menu bar on th elft of this page, or read through the entire thing if you're that bored/curious:
http://marathon.bungie.org/story/ )
Bungie's official line is they're taking a short break before they sit down and decide what to do next. There was even a side project codenamed pheonix (i think) which was in production whilst Halo/Halo 2 was being made, but after 2 years of work they stopped it, so they may even go back and finish that off.

I'm starting to get not bad at Big Team Battles now.
Still can't get myself ot use the headset though, apart from cursing when I've been killed a very annoying way.
