Buying online can be risky, especially when you buy from www.discount-pc-components-and-consumables.ru.
I'd like to know where you buy your stuff from. Best service, best prices and places to avoid. Your thoughts?

well, in the US the best place to go is NewEgg. I don't know if they ship internationally, but it's probably not worth the cost if they do.

I never had a problem with any supplier, including Dabs and OCUK, but OCUK will only deliver by courier, who only deliver during working hours. So I'm never in when they come and they fuck off back to Gateshead, where they say 'well you can still pick it up before six' at half five. When I'm 30 miles away in the arse end of nowhere. Bastards.

Casetech.co.uk aren't too bad, and Scan.co.uk.

I buy most of my stuff from www.insight.com, which operates in the US also, as they're very professional and reliable if not the cheapest. This is the only one I would vouch for but I have used these without any problems:

http://www.microdirect.co.uk/
http://www.savastore.com/
http://www.dabs.com/

oh and a special mention for: http://www.quietpc.com/uk/

edit: and how could I forget http://www.dexsystems.net/ :D
have I won yet?

ooo

my mate bought a mobo from ocuk and it turned out to be faulty, he sent it back and got some super mega beast one in return. cant remember either of them, but he had about 4 extra ram slots and such

they sent me a sound card with no driver, i wasnt aware i needed one so they found out the problem got in touch sharpish then when they realised sent the driver the next day. in their defence it was one of those ones where they just send the card so its cheaper so its an easy enough mistake to make i guess
also the post office place for if you miss the delivery is about 5mins walk from me :D

It was for me, but couriers don't work for the post office so they go back to the depot. Having said that, I think there's a way you can arrange for it to go there (at a price I'm sure).
