Noob questions

Some of these may well be unique to me, but with Eve being so massive and intimidating maybe other people might be interested (especially ones who downloaded it and so didn't get a manual, like me). So...
First, is it supposed to be windowed and not full screen? I can't see the bottom of the window on mine. Not a major problem but irritating.
Is there an options menu? How the hell do I adjust audio properties and stuff? I can't find a way to do it.
Why does my autopilot disengage straight after engaging because there are no waypoints set, while the waypoint shows 'Unreachable'. I'm getting around manually at the moment, but again it's irritating.
I don't know how to use custom music yet, but I haven't tried so I'll hopefully work it out unless someone can be arsed explaining before I get home from work.
I also found out last night that the game clock doesn't do British Summer Time, so when I was about to do the washing up and iron my kit for work at what I thought was 9:30, Mrs Pants walked in from work and bollocked me for doing nothing til 10:30. Pwned.
Can't think of anything else yet, but as the in-game help chat channels are always busy I'll probably think of more later. Cheers in advance.

the manual is useless shite

you can change all that type stuff from the options screen...

...which you get to by pressing Escape.

buggered if i know. you have set a waypoint, i presume?

i have heard mention of a tool for allowing custom music, but it doesnt come as standard. Frankly, if i want music, i play it via Media Player.

Yep. Next to the waypoint it says in yellow "destination unreachable". Maybe it's just a bit of a bug and it'll sort itself out.
Cheers Joose

If it says unreachable, try going into the map (press F10) and in the options tab there should be something that says which areas of space you want to stay in, and there should be a tick box marked 'stay out of pod killing zones'. Uncheck it and the problem should go away.

It seems to have sorted itself out when I logged back in, but I've disabled it anyway because it seems to cause other problems. Good advice.
Although now my map won't show and my objects panel keeps disappearing. Damn dodgy second-hand Condor. I thought Stan in the plaid suit looked dodgy when he sold it me.

Another question oh oracle. If you buy a new ship does that mean your old one is stuck there? I'd like to keep spare ships (an indy for transporting, for example) at Fru but I can't get them there without having to leave my primary ship behind. Is this what shuttles are for? I can't find anything about it online.
And could you look at my application to 5punkorp please mr Joose?
Cheers

Yes, leave your old ship where you want to keep it and toddle off in a Shuttle. They're really only useful if you've got a proper ship at the other end, or maybe for picking up blueprints.

Thats been done, you just need to accept the application now.
[edit] And if you go for the user channel X-5punkers you can find us in there (if we're online anyways)

This one's not really a noob question, but I didn't think it warranted its own thread.
I was transferring rat droppings from my cargo hold to Fru IV last night and one of the items came up with the message "Transferring to Minmatar Research Station". I didn't notice which item prompted the message. I didn't have any particularly unusual cargo, and I didn't notice anything missing from my items, although I wasn't paying it too much attention.
Nobody online last night knew what it was, and it's probably nothing, but I was just wondering if any of the old hands have seen it before.

I had a couple of them too, I think it may be stuff that has come back from the escrow (and maybe market) either open it or break it to see what's in there
