guildwars: Eye of the North

hello.
I realise none of the cool kids play guildwars anymore, but Eye of the North has just launched. it's expansion, not stand-alone so you'll need to have already got one of the other chapters, although you can get GW: original and GWEN as a bundle in some places.

supplementary question: Good service provider for guild/clan voice chat? My nrgServers is coming to a close and I want to replace it ASAP, although I can go back to them, I was hoping for some recommendations from the gaming Gods

Quin's company supplies the eve lot with a 200 player teamspack server. It might be worth having a chat to him.

I'd stick with them then, narf.

They have the size to oversell and make it cheap.

I bought Eye of the North, then discovered it was an expansion for level 20s only.

XFire says I've played 57 hours, and my highest level active character is 7.

My chars are fairly advanced, and I've not played it for ages. Is there a way of finding out what level I am without installing it?

If it's 20 or nearish you can have it FJ.

sadly not, but there's a very active guild who love having gaming fun in GW with all kinds of levels and abilities.
also, there's a few upgrades to game clients etc, that mean it's a long winded process once you are in-game, not grindy, just downloady

Thanks for the offer, but I don't think your account would have the expansion applied to it.

I'm not a very active player of any MMOs, I just log on occasionally and have a bit of fun at my own level - I guess I'm rather unusual in that regard, as many expansions in MMOs seem to be catering to the what I'd call hardcore players, hungry for new high-level areas and content. Or perhaps I'm in the silent majority.

It was a bit of a bonus to me to able to start over in GW in two new areas with new stuff in the previous two "expansions", and I should have read the details more carefully before buying this one. I just got all excited seeing Dangermouse's Flickr pics and wanted to see Gwen all growed up.

The download times are a bit of an arse, having recently reinstalled, it looks like it's going to be four nights on the trot leaving it downloading just to have all my characters playable.

It's so long since I played it.

I remember preferring the pre-seared world as the post-seering world was just killing giant cockroaches appearing every 10 yards. Became rather tedious after the 10,000th. I used to join those story missions with a gang and before we'd completed most of them had decided they didn't want to do it anymore and left me to die horribly.

I certainly got my monies worth from it at the time, but I don't really have the urge to pick it up again. It just went flat for me.

The Father has spoken. I'd say with them. At less than .14 cents a slot, kinda hard to beat.
