Not to be outdone by another prominent first-person shooter with a new metallic finish, id Software's Enemy Territory: Quake Wars has gone gold. According to the press release, the game will invade Europe and Australia first on September 28, followed by North America four days later (October 2).

Though not mentioned, we're expecting the game to also be released via Steam much like the rest of id's catalog. No word on its impending release for Mac (being handled by Aspyr), Xbox 360 (Nerve Software) or the PlayStation 3 (Activision Foster City).

Yesssss! Even if it sucks (unlikely) that's four days of saying how brilliant it is on every US gaming site I can find.

Whats going on with this sudden need to include Australia in everything, I'm not knocking them, the sport winning, sheep bumming convicts that they are, but there's a few big games recently that have release dates coincide with europe and Australia, why not just release it everywhere, at the same time? Bunch of cunts. Also, merika, fuck you! We've got four days to play this motherfucking game yeah!

Australia typically have to wait even longer than we do for games, even though they're near Japan, Sony too seem to hate them more than us - so I feel a bit sorry for them.

I don't know if they use a weirdy TV format, but it can't be the excuse they use for Europe: that they have to translate into four languages and convert the game manuals to black and white.
