When I have multiple windows open and I click the one I want in the taskbar it'll flash orange rather than make the window pop up.

Checking the "Prevent applications stealing focus" box and then unchecking it in TweakUI (and then restarting) seems to have fixed it.

Sounds like Zune. I use Royale Noir, which is similar but without the annoying orange.

I thought stuff that wanted your attention flashed orange on the Taskbar whatever theme you were on.

And I like the Orange Zuneness.

Me too.

I use the silver theme, don't know what it's called, don't care. It just makes a change from the blue one.

I've got zuneness going on as well. I've had various skinning programs, like stylexp and stardock, but I just leave it alone now.

Anyone know what causes this, it's happened once or twice now and it always annoys me

I think I've had a similar thing before, but it seems to have sorted itself out when I got rid of stylexp and loaded the zune theme, sorry for the lack of any actual help! :P

What everyone has said and no-one has asked.

are you using any custom themes, skins or skinning apps??

It happens sometimes, but I have no idea why exactly.

Most likely it is some handler or callback failing to hand over focus to another process, there are many such things available to every application and it only takes one to behave incorrectly to affect explorers behaviour.

Most likely there is one culprit process, it's just working out which on it is.

Everything looks red when I use Windows Classic.
I think it's the blood haemorrhaging from my eyes.

What's so great about windows classic theme, other than a perceived badge of nerd pride?

First, it's more compact. Second, it looks nicer.

Might have something to do with it.
