Xfire list improvements

In the xfire update today they just added this feature:
You can put links to add an Xfire friend on web sites. The format is xfire:add_friend?user=yyy . Change yyy to your username, all lower case, of course!
Maybe on the xfire list we could have that instead of the link to the persons board profile, that way we could add new members a lot easier and it would be a lot easier for new people to add everyone.

Release notes for 1.43
Added a new *BETA* voice chat feature, for one to one voice conversations. Please test it out, and read the FAQ if you have problems.
New Continuous mode in Xfire In-Game shows you all messages you receive on screen at all times. Enable it inside games by pressing scroll lock + x, then F2 for the main menu, then select In-Game Options and then Enable Continuous Mode.
Group Chats are now accessible in Xfire In-Game.
You can drag and drop friends into custom groups to more easily organize them.
Major enhancements to the interface in the files tab.
You can put links to add an Xfire friend on web sites. The format is xfire:add_friend?user=yyy . Change yyy to your username, all lower case, of course!
We now save the size of the infoview in the main window and chat windows, so if you don't like the extra wide infoview you can shrink it.
Adjusted the infoview game skins to waste less space, and added an infoview game skin for CoD: UO..
Added support for the arrow keys in the infoview.
Fixed extra character when chatting in Xfire In-Game.
The Xfire window will now "dock" with any border of the screen, and stay that way if you close and reopen the window. This feature has been broken since May 2004, but has been restored due to the constant nagging of TFS|Offy

.
Added Xfire In-Game support to
Direct3D 9 games
Men of Valor, Prince of Persia Warrior Within
Direct3D 8 games
Pariah, Postal 2: Share the Pain, Red Orchestra, Soldner - Secret Wars, Star Wars Republic Commando
DirectDraw
Hearts of Iron II, The Sims.
OpenGL games
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
New games supported: Silent Hill 3, Silent Hill 4, Baldur's Gate, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, Stronghold, Stronghold Crusader, Gothic II, The Sims Online, Magic Online, Thief, Thief 2 The Metal Age, Live for Speed, Spartan, and Gates of Troy.
Enjoy!

using this in a batch file *might* work.
Code: Select all
@echo off
start start xfire:add_friend?user=mspeightuk
SLEEP 10
start xfire:add_friend?user=rain84
SLEEP 10
start xfire:add_friend?user=anhamgrimmar
SLEEP 10
start xfire:add_friend?user=johnking
SLEEP 10
start xfire:add_friend?user=eoscropper
SLEEP 10
:End
*shortend for sense*

I just tested that and for some reason it only seems to ask to add 2 random people from the list each time, if it could be fixed then i'm sure theres a way to have php automatically generate that file for people to download.

This new clickable add thingy on the Xfire List makes a massive difference.
It would now only take about 2 minutes to add everybody on the list
Once again can I ask you all to please look at the list, and add everybody, especially the last 20 entries or so.
Thanks

I likes this thing, I'd been away for a few days, and had a pile of "Add friend requests" waiting on my xfire.. So, it seems that I do not need to bother, as others will add me if they truely love the pixie pie

I don't know how you're planning on doing it but you might find
thisuseful to tell you which friends someone already has
