5punk

Quin's been recruiting at work! One of his work mates, in game name Ruin from Solid State Securities Corp [SSSX], wanted to get access to 0.0 for PvP and a bit of ratting. As we know, apart from the recent NA TZ acquisitions, alliance recruiting is a pretty closed shop so Ruin has agreed to join 5punkorp with a 3 of his corp mates (2 of whom are his brothers). Now I know you're all thinking OMG SPIE, and quite rightly we should be paranoid, but you can't have a better reference than a RL mate from our own dear Quin.

Anyway, expect to see them in X-5punkers of the next few weeks while they sort their shit out and then joining up. They'll have access to here as soon as they sign up to the forum, and to BUM forum once they've joined proper. Give them a warm welcome!

Edit: Dres, Dolly - I'm looking at you to help them get settled in. They're pretty high skilled characters, although I believe PvP experience may be limited. Get them involved with Asgard or BWL for PvP ops.

Mission accepted, although I'm not very pvp keen yet myself! I have been chatting in alliance w/ the NA TZ peeps though, should be able to make intro's well enough! Point of thought, how goes the BUM mining spot? They might be interested to get started there if they're industry based primarily, to get them isk to pay for pvp'ing.

as arrii any myself are quite new, i think the best bet might be for us 6 (myself, arrii and the 4 new guys) to grab someone with some experience (say sapph or one of you guys) to act as a FC and go do some small gang empire pew pew. if we can convince UCE to stop running away at least.

id never really pvped, and i found that to be a nice gentle introduction, ill be honest, im still not comfortable in 0.0, mostly because i dont have any stuff out there except what im flying. once i maybe move a few BSs out there with ammo/spare mods etc ill be a little more settled. to that end, im planning on missionbearing a little to build up some isk (i have like 32mill )

what do you think?

BWL is moving some guys up to QYZ as we speak and we have standings set if you want to travel up as well - ask Neesa Corrine or one of the other BWL people if you want a hand getting their during your TZ. I'll ask Steamy to arrange docking rights for 5punkorp as well, but be aware this hasn't been done for us yet, only for BWL and Lyrus (not sure why).

I keep an absolute minimum of stuff in 0.0, just in case we lose the POS's at short notice. Have one roaming gang ship (either a HAC, recon or cruiser) and a fleet ship (bs with fits for spider rep or sniping, or failing that a support ship like an interdictor, point defence cruiser etc). Any replacement ships smaller than a bc can be jumped down easily in a carrier when needed.

I personally find empire PvP boring, but in principle your idea is sound. Get together with Sapph or one of the BWL/Asgard FC's depending on TZ and go play!

Jimmy: docking rights are being sorted. Not entirely sure why Steamy left us out. I think it's because I said we wanted nothing to do with the organisation as we were already doing NR, and he misread that we didn't want to be involved at all.
