anyone here had experience with one?
Ive just got it, and havent had much of a chance to fiddle yet, but im so far buggered by the firewall.
The only site the damn thing lets through is the belkin one. All other sites (in fact, all other things, like x-fire and so on) are blocked, and i cant seem to find any settings for it. If had to turn the thing off entirely, and use a software firewall (which isnt great).
Anyone got any ideas?

Unless you're in a corporate environment or you have a specific need to prevent outgoing connections on a case-by-case basis, you should really leave firewalls switched off if you're behind a router.
If anyone attempts to connect to your IP address, all they'll get is your router saying nothing. If you have a large number of ports being forwarded to your machine (or you're in the DMZ), then consider using a software firewall.
Rule of thumb: ICMP firewalls on consumer or SOHO routers are pure trouble.

I've got one.. the Modem/Router and had no problems at all with it. I have left it pretty much as default except for putting the MAC addresses of all the PC's on the Network to stop others getting on and nicking me bandwidth.
Haven't had any problems running 4 pc's on it

unless the maker of the router is as retarded as the ones who made my parents router; for some reason they thought it would be a good idea to leave a slightly obscure port open, that you can connect to using telnet and doesnt ask for a password before chucking you into the settings stuff. the sillies.
Anyway, im going to trust that belkin are not that dim and take your advice. I may, if i find myself particularly bored, try and fix it at some point.
RTFM

Well, there's got to be a firewall configuration page of some kind. I don't think it can get any worse so feel free to fuck around with it.
