The original Deus Ex.

On an aside/tj, does anybody recognise this programming language, I do, but not sure what it is

Code: Select all

$_='&01651841&216918213216616916&1&513216816
91831691821861691681321841&91321681&3169';$/=&_(
$_);@_=map{chr}@{$/};eval join('',@_);sub _ {
$_=shift;s/&/7/g;@_=split/1/;unshift(@_,112,114,105,110,
116,32,34); push(@_,34,59);\@_;}

Psychonauts

That language could be C++, I learnt a bit of it years ago. But it could also be Java or Perl, they are similar and I'm not code expert.

something that will keep my attention, frp/rpg *no idea* but a decent game with both those genres sounds good :) or an rts, garghhh.....

we really need a database that incorperates the reviews, but also people can rank each game and stuffs, also with genre sorting and shizzle. YES! Do it, will make a suggestion later perhaps

Yeah, I watched the trailer (there's a demo on the site as well) and it didn't look as bad as I expected it. You can walk around the ship, (of which there are 13 I think it said, including the Titanic), do rescue missions and there are even sweet jumps in it.

RPG wise, any of the bioware RPGS should hold your attention for a coupla days....(or years in the case of planescape torment. had it since it came out, and still never finished the damn thing)

Baldurs Gate/BGII
Neverwinter nights/NWNII
Planescape: Torment (i heartily recommend this one)
Fallout 1/FOII (look very bad graphics wise, but still worth a shot. forget Fallout tactics though, its not an RPG as such)

FPS wise, i've no idea, most singleplayer shooters have been a bit 'meh' for storyline recently.

FPRPGs
Deus Ex (i know you've played it recently, but its always worth another playthrough)
Deus Ex II
Oblivion
Erm.......

Another vote for psychonauts (only played the demo, but i will get the full game one of these days)

As for RTS, i can definatly recommend Hostile waters. Twas a classic, and i'm upset theres never gonna be a sequel.

Vampire Masquerade, with patches, is worth a giggle for an rpg-ish FPS.

That would be perl.

Ah lovely, cheers. What is it for, script wise? Does it mean anything you can think of?

I really don't know. I was never very proficient with perl to begin with, and I haven't written any code for about eighteen months.

From looking at <a href="http://www.deagnosti.co.uk/ilovehorses" ... on.html</a> it seems to be part of something to do with combining like terms within a database, and then creating a seperate reference of the duplicates.

Hmm... The reson I ask is that it's a solution to a question in an alternate reality game called <a href="http://deuscity.com/index.php">Deus City</a> (I'm having a bash at it for my essay). You'll not be able to see the question unless you register and go to the particular location, but it's here

Code: Select all

Coded Note

We found this message from Chris. The computer language used no longer exists in our time. Find out what it says and I'll give you the information you seek

Point being, once you've solved the question, you get a financial reward and some information (which is kinda the point).
