So, why did you give 2142 such a high score?

oh don't get me wrong they're great games but now i want more. It seems like ID just said "we can do that...but better" and they have, but it's still essentially the same format, pick a class, attack, repeat.

I'm waiting for the UT3 engine to have it's own version of this format, and it surely will.

OK, so it should hopefully be better, but what do you want to see in an online FPS military-type game that this won't have?

The progressive objectives through the map are what will hopefully make this game a departure from beef for me, and put a different slant on the squad-based action.

I've got that email as well now. I can't say I'm as looking forward to it as I was but what the hell, I'll keep the pre-order.

:above: i got beef 2 and future beef but i was never very good at them and although i still enjoyed them to some extent, i don't see this being significantly different to warrant buying it if you already have other similar games.

in a vaguely related subject, i only recently read about Crysis, and it made me do sex wees. i am planning a new pc to cope with it already, but am lacking the fundage. i fail at getting paid, as i am currently on a temp contract and will get paid for all the hours i worked in July at the end of august and august at the end of september. i am hopefully getting a different, full time position with the same company soon though, so if they get things sorted quickly i might get too full months pay at the end of septmebeer, which is only what i will be owed but it will seem like lots of nice monies.

:above: I may well have not seen the pretties of beta 2, but its all coloured meh in beta 1. I didn't like the feel of the guns, I like sniping, and although I'm good with the human long, the strogg one is utter pish, pixellated and tango coloured crap, everything feels weak, even the r/l. It doesn't feel right, dunno why, can't give a reason, I guess I'm not excited enough by it to be bothered.

They have fixed some of that with beta2. The human guns feel and sound a bit more powerful, and the strogg ones have become unpixelated

Slightly less meh then, If i could get enough bandwidth to d/l the beta 2, I might just give it another shot. If it feels less pish, I'll re-order it, I'm registered as me for the full game still I guess.
