just a private forum for keeping prying eyes out of the way

Can do, but would it need to be regged members-only, or a fully hidden forum?

There's nothing to stop people signing up and seeing posts if it's a regged users one, but for a fully hidden one (or a closed one) someone would need to be constantly on the ball adding and removing members.

If there's to be a 5punk one, I think it should be a semi-permanent thing, and to avoid any feelings of preferentiality amongst members, should apply to a number of different games, and that any regular 5punker can ask and be granted access.

My thinking is that while it's not terribly 5punky to have private areas, if we don't facilitate them, people will find other ways to organize things, like XFire, etc - and even more people will be left out.

People's thoughts?

My vote is:
closed/fully-hidden, semi-permanent, applicable to a number of different games (it'd also be a good place to put stuff like certain server details, invites, that sort of thing), and on an ask-for-access basis.

You mean like the EvE 0.0 forum? (NO BERK! DOWN! i'm allowed to mention EvE because the 0.0forum is relevant to what you're after)

We've had several hidden forums in the past, wouldn't really say it was non-5punky.

I wouldn't consider it non-5punky since it's designed to just keep the prying eyes of non-5punkers out, like the 0.0 forum
