5punk day-trip to York!

It has been proposed that we try and organise a 5punk trip to York. I envisage the day going along the lines of arriving mid-morning, going somewhere en-masse for lunch. In the afternoon we could try and find something cultural to do, or we could just go and sit in a beer garden.

The one place we must all go (and indeed the reason the trip was suggested) is the Fudge Kitchen.

After that, maybe some more food somewhere and a few drinks in the many pubs in York. I'll probably end up getting the train down as it's only £13ish for a cheap day return, since this will allow alcohol to be drunk, and the last train back is late enough.

So, who else would fancy such a trip? If this is a serious suggestion, when are people free? I propose a Saturday - I'm free on 4th Aug, but not free on a Sat after that until 15th Sept.

Can't do 4th August, too soon

The first Sat after 15th Sept is possible but not late Sept

Cant do late September.
If someone grabs me and stuffs me into their car on the way past, then all will be well.
I can do pretty much any day.

I could possibly do early August but I'm away from Thurs until 1st/2nd August in Swansea for surf teim! 10th August I'm meant to be camping but given the weather, that suggestion's on the back burner. If the weather gets better though, we could maybe incorporate some kind of camping/dogging into a fudge packing weekend possibly? Imagine a campsite full of 5punkers. Good lord. Just a suggestion.

September should be just dandy for me though, providing it's not too late in Sept. This is a preliminary yes from me, ninja concerts pending...

I can do pretty much any day, I live pretty close to York (60 miles or so away) so I'm not overly fussed

Gaaaah!!! I will be in France from the 4th August to the 18th... York is only to the left of me (or right, depending on which way your standing) that would have been a good day out... pissed off now. :(

Ok, so the 22nd? Does that classify as "late Sept" for your purposes GrimGrim or are you free then? It may have to come down to a vote for which weekend most people are free.

Think I'd rather keep it to a day-trip myself as anything else requires far more organisation, and that is not exactly our strong point. Keeps it cheaper too.

Might be too late. Will confirm with my American lady as to when she's got time off in Sept for me to visit though, so we'll see.

I sincerely hope you're not planning on polluting our gene pool with a 'merikan bloodline! Look at what happened to northwesten with his merikan bride...

That would be unforgivable.

We should take up a collection for the "Fly Nickface to the fun (forget Deject!) Fund" :)
