Hide and Seek mod

Slinger has found the best CS:S mod ever. Like the CS:S Zombie Mod, it is server based, so no downloads. Basically, Ts choose a model from the scenery, such as a bottle, crate, van, vending machine etc etc - they vary with the map - and then go and hide somewhere. CTs then have to find and shoot them. Very simple, very funny. All 5punkers will love this. FACT.

For example:

Firstly, chose the model of a shrub, then hide in a tree:

Then, when no-one is looking, change to something more amusing:

And then of course change back just as two enemies appear

Far too many LOLs were had on this mod, and I suspect it would only be better with a server of 5punkers instead of speedhacking gayers. Oooh look at me, I have to use hax against unarmed enemies!

Edit: It seems to be a fairly poorly made mod, as voting for stuff like the next map will change your model. I also suspect the speedhaxingz weren't speedhaxingz, since a lot of people were saying it was some console command - probably one that you're not usually allowed to use, but can because of the mod.

Looking at what seems to be the hide and seek website, it seems like this would be a pain to get installed, since it requires a couple other plugins as well as mani mod

I guess we could always just find a random server to invade.

How do I find a random server? I had a quick look then my net connection died again so I gave up. As it looks like it uses standard maps I guess it's a case of trawling though the server names.

It's a pain to find random servers, I managed to find one or two while googling for the mod's site though

There are a few custom maps, mostly they have crap strewn all over the place to up the hiding ability. But you cant beat running around as a vending machine whilst people try and stab you!

Only played one custom map so far, and to be honest I think they're crap compared to the vanilla ones for this mod. Having a room with dozens of phones on the floor to create a supposed hiding spot for someone as a phone just doesn't do it for me. Having 3 or 4 5punkers set themselves up as a whole computer really does work for me though, as does playing "catch me if you can" as a vending machine.

Console commands:

Code: Select all

bind x "say hideexec"
bind x "thirdperson"
bind x "firstperson"
bind x "cl_radaralpha 0"
bind x "cl_radaralpha 255"
Obviously, replace x with whatever keys you want for each function.

I find cl_radaralpha better set at 128.

255 gives you the movement lines showing where people have been, 128 does not do that, it can get confusing.
