deject swings some of the gore loose off the long knife and then wipes it off.
Nothing like a good melee to spice up the day. I'm guessing my fellow Raider up on the ceiling is with your squad?

Mina, are you ok?

The Wraith drops from the ceiling and switched mags on his FEN AR as the rest of his squad file out of the side tunnel.
Cube Face wrote:Uh Prows? Yeah, he wouldn't come in. We, uh, we were waiting for you here but had to duck for cover.

In other news, I found the trailer for the film this BPN was roughly based on:

I don't remember it being so awesome as to have Tom Selleck and Gene Simmons in it.

Yeah let's check out the damage.
Deject will head to the train and take a look.

The train consists of three long carriages, the engines being the front and back sections of the end carriages. Working along the train from the front (you think, it can go either direction), you see the first engine/carriage is derailed. It looks like the track has been warped, but whether it was caused by the derailment or not isn't immediately apparent. The train's doors are a good four feet off the ground, and the windows another three feet over that, so it's hard to see in from closer to them. There's no signs of occupation in the driver's cabin, although the derailment has shattered the safety glass (still in place) and buckled the armoured bodywork. The passenger section of the first cabin seems relatively intact, and there are panicky looking civilians banging on the windows shouting for help. They look bloodied and bruised, but no hideous injuries are visible. The second carriage is similarly full of scared people. They look a little healthier but equally scared. The third carriage has gore smeared over the windows and a few bulletholes in them. The doors look to have been torn open, and inside you can see strewn limbs and unidentifiable human remains. The rear driver cabin is pretty much intact, but blood spatters the inside.

Mina and the Cube Face squad follow.

Yeah, I reckon that's enough. The doors are strong, but you manage to get purchase and slide them open. The people inside are almost hysterical with relief and fear. Pretty much exclusively Downtowners, with a ganger or two for good measure. Now you can see inside better you can see some more people in there who are more seriously hurt.

I'll make with the paramedic skills and see how many I can help.

Paramedic (3): 1, 7 + 3 = 11

It's a pretty epic task with injuries ranging from cuts and bruises to partially severed limbs. Those in the latter category could well be dead in most cases. It looks as though many have had some sort of basic first aid applied using the little resources available to them (and you, unless you have a first aid kit yourself). In the second carriage there are fewer people with any kind of first aid applied, and it looks like those who have have probably done it themselves or tried something they saw on TV. The injuries are also less serious generally, so you manage to bandage a few people up in torn shirts and advise the lesser injured passengers on how to treat for shock and bleeding. They could all probably do with some form of proper medical treatment, if not physically then emotionally.

I do have a first aid kit, in fact. I'll treat the most critical civvies who look like they're going to make it.

We'll deffo need the Shiver paramedics - I've barely enough flux to make my finger glow, let alone tend to this lot.

I'll speak to one of the survivors nearby.
Dirk wrote:Thank god you're all ok. It's bad enough to be attacked by Carriens, but Carriens drugged up by DarkNight? You all did a fantastic job in preventing them from entering the train. No matter what DarkNight do, they'll never break the spirits of the citizens of Mort!
Dirk wrote:Mina, do you think that some of them would be good for a piece to camera? Screen them first though, wouldn't want them being crazy live on air.

All okay? A third have been eaten by Carriens and the rest all have injuries of some sort. The last car still hasn't been investigated, but the chances of anything being alive in there don't look good.
Mina wrote:Sure, if you guys are doing your boring forensic stuff. Let me know when you're done and we can do an interview. I'll get the dead beasties tallied up too - you get a bonus for those you know.

I appear to have gone a bit mental and painted a picture in my head where they were all fine. I'll reword it in a bit, but the gist will still be the same - DarkNight tried to kill you all by giving Carrien drugs.

Eraser scampers off excitedly (a worrying sight) and starts to pile up bodies.

A while later. you hear a heavy 'thud', when you look, he's beheaded the Greater Carrien and is skinning its head for the antlers.

No, don't. I thought it was propaganda for the cameras - "look, everyone's fine! Nope, nobody got eaten by Carriens, nuh-uh".

You've probably forgotten, but Eraser won't fail to notice the unused (on you at least) Chainaxe it was carrying. It's definitely not standard issue.

Is it a shinier Chainaxe than mine?

Does it have someone in the circuits name on it?

Yep, it's shinier than yours. It's bigger, heavier, and goes WHRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! louder. It has the word MURDERER across the head in stylised block text.

I'll hook it to the maghold on my back, keep my usual axe to hand and see if there's a reward for recovery when we get out :)

If not, yay! new axe!
