I'll edge closer then. How far away am I roughly then? I guess it's a bit lat for a slightly detailed description.

About 20m, with a few more ragged pieces of hanging cloth inbetween you. You could probably take a guess at where she is from the mottled heat pattern if you like, but the narrow aperture of the tunnel exit doesn't make things any easier.

Would that be a detect roll?

Right then, time to rock and roll. Time to aim a burst. If possible I'll spend 3 phases worth of aiming, and then fire.
Meet my friends Mama Krutch!
And I almost don't want to use this roll lest you think I'm cheating, but it's just too good.

To hit: Rifle: 9,9 + 8 + 3 (ROF bonus) + 2 (aim bonus) - 2 (IR) = 29
# of hits: Auto/Support: 9,9 + 5 + 3 (ROF bonus) = 26

I'm loaded with 10mm STD at the moment, and that should be all 5 rounds hit. :)

I'm not going to give you the aim bonus as you don't know exactly where she is, but with that roll it doesn't really matter. Your bullets rip through the rags and smoke and impact on something on the other side. Chaos erupts.

Doggers has let me do some pre-fight Ebb boosting, as Deject has kinda shot off without us here (so to speak). So:

Claws GOE
+1 Dex GOE

Charge!

As deject started us off, the rest of us start turn 2, apparently, so turn two im pushing past and charging full tilt down the corridor, shouting (im guessing this will take the next couple of combat turns):

It'll take however long it takes your sprint rate to cover 20m. I don't know what that is at the moment.

That better be said in a Duke Nukem voice.

I'll fire off a burst of suppressive fire down past Toast on 2.

Auto/Support: 2,5 + 5 = 12

Means you move at 3.9m per phase, which means you'll cover 20m in 6 phases.

Laser sight on, please.
I'd like to use my minty fresh tictacts to see if there are any cover opportunities, or weak points in the wall, or optimal positions I can use Deject as a man-shield with.

Bugger, this will teach me to work late. Erm, not sure what I'm going to do. I'll head down the tunnel until I see Mama, then I'm going to take aim at her big fat ugly head.

You can try to use Deject as a meat shield. It's not too difficult in a tunnel this size.

Indeed you do. Well unless anyone else can do anything else I'll skip a few phases.

A little random fire comes from ahead but none makes any contact. There looks to be lots of movement and children shouting. Unless anyone has anything to do in the meantime Mephit will barge past Toast and burst into the room on 4.

By my calculations, on turn 4 Toast is still running, and has got to somewhere around "your eyes".
