To be slightly pedantic, the apparent correct term is paedoras, which means child fucker, paedophile supposedly means lover of children and of course can be applied to grannys, teachers, parents, creatures etc, without the stealing fucking and killing part implied by the media's misuse of the word. But who am I to argue!

I wouldn't refer to yourself as a paedophile in your nursery assistant job application, no matter how linguistically correct it may be.

Don't know what the quote is from, but I do know it's not true - this was believed up until very recently but there's video evidence from some documentary or other showing sharks sat still on the sea bed. I'm about 80% sure of this*

*Patented Dog Pants disclaimer on the chance that I'm actually wrong.

Actually, I think it's half true.

IIRC Sharks always need water flowing through them, but they don't have to be swimming, if the water is moving enough they can sit still.

Correcta-mundo.

Nurse sharks are bottom feeders and as such, spend many hours sat around doing bugger all. As Berk said, they just need water flowing through their gills.

Bottom feeders!? The shark may be sitting still, but I'll sure as hell be swimming. Fast and away.

It's because they never developed the ability to pump water through their gills themselves, and some other fish are the same (Mackerel are I think). Thats why they swim in their sleep. Sharks haven't evolved much in a long long time.

That's the best thing I've ever seen. I'm going to print it out and put it on the wall in the office.

I think you mean "paederast".

Also... the "-phile" suffix does indeed mean lover (from Greek, as I recall), for example "oenophile" or "bibliophile", where it is used in the platonic sense, but also as in "necrophile", "zoophile" and of course "paedophile", where it is used in the concupiscent sense.

edit: living in the US for four years did not do my spelling any good. ;)

Different quotes, same show.

"Mm-hmm. I'm going to go home, take a shower for, I don't know eight or nine hours, burn the clothes that I'm wearing and then... sleep until late spring."

"No matter how paranoid you are, you're not paranoid enough."

Different show. (previous ones were the x-files, very difficult to get good quotes from)

Dead easy, so I expect Season, episode name and character.
I don't blame you. You spoke to five people and they all committed suicide. I wouldn't mind, but one was a wrong number. He only phoned up for the cricket scores.

Bollocks, I almost suggested X Files because I knew you'd been watching them. It would have been a wild guess though.
