I assumed from what I read a while back with the quad being 2 dual cores bonded together that it would treat core 1 as a primary, and then 3 as a secondary, filling 2 and 4 as needed and a consequence would be higer levels of activity in 1 and 3 before 2 and 4, but I guess they got it working as a true quad better than they guy who wrote the article expected. Still, it seems strange to me to see most activity in core 3, dunno why, just does.

That's the one. Got the £25 quid cheaper unboxed one that only has 1 yr warranty and no stock cooler.

Using my big Zalman Tritium cooler that works in-line with the airflow of the case. Seems 5-8°C cooler under normal load, which is I guess down to the low power technicals.

woo!

I'm still liking my Q6600, it's nice to have a machine that folds stupidly well, and keeps my room warm :)

I'll tell you whats letting you down, your OS, get rid of fista and 'downgrade' to XP, far better. (unless you're dual booting, in which case nm)

I think FJ is on PC8888 or PC9200 (though, i'd assume running at 8500 speed), Wouldn't worry too much, the scores in fista are just there to remind you that XP works better ;)

ahh that explains, im on mere 6400 LOL

For what i use Th pc for fista is ok, for now. It seems it but if i'm honest i've only used it a week and i knwo shit all about computers anyway :) I just thought it'd be easier as i had a fista disk right there when i finished the build, or i would have had to wait 3 hours for an XP disc  patience you see

It was called 9136 when I bought it, but I think it's equivalent to what they now call 9200, 1150MHz 5-5-5-18, although it still scores 5.9 with it supposedly set to 800Mhz - the BIOS wants to overvoltage everything if I set it higher, and it's not really neccessary as of yet.

The minscule performance increase I get running it at full speed suggests that the BIOS is lying a bit, or that the current systems aren't really ready to keep up with it yet.

Dunno if it's just the fact that air temps are generally cooler this time of year, but my GPU temp seems on average 15-20°C cooler since I got the low-power quad.

:above: :above:  I do remember the multiplayer beta settling down after a few minutes to being slightly jerky on occasion, but no doubt the single player really ramps up the 'I'm going to eat your cpu/gpu/ram and I'm just a leaf/waterfall/alien monstrosity'. Think the new build will be needed before I :sweep: crysis.

Ty, if you're running 32 bit Windows, don't bother with having 4 gigs of memory as it won't be able to see all of it
