Early indications are good.
Apart from getting a very annoying graphics glitch when it started raining, which fortunately went after a restart, it all works rather nicely on my 7950 card with settings mostly highish.

the full game area (CFB):
edit: The game runs like shit for me, I have to turn it to low detail and 800x600 to get decent frame rates, but even with such shitty options it still looks pretty damn good. Also, it hasn't crashed on me yet.

That's probably pushing it a bit, although if you have a good CPU it's worth a try.

Do you think it will work on my old-fashioned and 10% underclocked 6600gt?
Also, is that the map you get with the special edition game in a tin?

By DX9 compatible soundcard, do you think it actually means Fantastico Onboard Sound From The Heavens, or genuinely "get a soundcard".

I suspect they mean one will work, the other will work well.

I've just gone into the 3rd zone now and getting my arse fed to me.
There are sneaky-ness bars on the left of the HUD - has anyone actually managed to do anything sneaky? Does sneaky even work?
The first zone is pretty easy once you get BIGGAR guns, the one after seems to be a case of attack, die, reload, attack, die, reload, attack, die, reload, attack, get lucky, win. Not sure how I managed half what I did and the constant spawning of arse-bandits is now irritating me.
The 3rd zone for me is the one on the west of the 2nd zone (as you can go E, N, W from the 2nd zone.) There must be some names of these zones I should be using.
Must say I am enjoying this, it is shitting me up a fair bit too when it does night time. Them rabid mutant animals send shivers down me when they're running after me.
My PC can handle it (6800 AGP, 3.6 Ghz, 2GB RAM), it is only slightly annoying in a fire fight when you don't actually know where you are pointing in the slide show - but that is only real up close muzzle-flash induced graphics lag. When I am suicide-shot-gunning them in the face.
Edit:
Oh also, has anyone found out how to take only the ammo from a baddies gun - as I don't want a 57th gun, just the bullets inside. Be really helpful as I am avoiding picking up guns because of the weight and missing out on the ammo that is inside them.

Often their guns won't be loaded, search their bodies.
however, you can pick up a gun, right click in your inventory and select unload.
Also remember to have a poke about in stashes (mauve triforces on the map) sometimes you'll get ammo.
Later on it becomes less of an issue, but I've still ran through 600+ rounds in a big mission

Also:
Video - Mildly spoilery (done in an area very early on in the game, but a nice-ish gun)
55mb, Reasonably compressed (and half-size) but it'll do

I was playing at two in the morning with my headphones on. I went into a tunnel and had a Mr Tentacle face following me, naturally I turned round to figure out why there were two sets of footsteps and all I found was a pair of floating glowy eyes. I screamed, not a muffled eep..... a proper ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH. Consequently I woke my neighbor up who (after I explained) called me faaabulous. So I reloaded the game, put the headphones on and indicated on the map to go from here to there. Needless to say he also screamed like a little bitch.

Well its nice that you've found a little faaabulous buddy just next door then!
Played this for all of 15 mins before coming to work this morning. Think I need to tune it down a little and give it a proper blast after work though.
