Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
Anyone else expecting a Manchine? lol
I'll go ahead and try ratcheting the mechanics thingy, see if it opens the door.

My credits are still on a ghost. Deej, can you be Whoopi Goldberg?
Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
There's nothing to gain purchase with to ratchet up the door. You reckon a crowbar or something equally long and stiff would do it though.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
Well then I'll head in the other direction then.
Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
The walkway is slim, clearly the facility is designed to have a minimum of human input. Following the line down to the other end of the dark room, the machinery merges with the wall and the walkway ends in a rusty hatch which lies open, metal ladders stretching down into the darkness below. By the time you reach the far end the noise on your radio is loud and irritating, and your UV is swimming with spots and flashes. As you peer into the darkness a quiet metallic groan emanates from somewhere among the machinery behind you.

Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck hold me!
I'll check out the IR to see if anything stands out.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
The IR is suffering from the same noise, but nothing stands out.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul

Anything showing up on the motion scanners yet? Or any strange noises in my audio enhancements?
Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
Nothing on your motion scanners, and only the white noise of your comms is to be heard.

I guess I'll take the ladder down, not much behind us.

He's not getting through any other way, if the hole was awkward for Dirk to get through (Charge your suit) all 2.75m of Eraser (plus armour) has no hope.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
Rather than booting it, could you try just pulling it up? If the machinery that would normally operate it is all fucked up, a big strong stormer like yourself might be able to just horse the mechanism.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
That may work.
But the last thing anyone said to Eraser was they would try and open the door, now they've all buggered off and left him, and not said it's nackered.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
The level below is a lot drier than the previous rooms. A layer of dust looks to coat everything. Movement looks to be easier as the machines tend to be standalone units in ranks rather than conveyor lines. The noise in your comms is drowning out anything the rest of the squad might be saying, and it's hard to see through the speckled noise in your IR sights.deject wrote:I guess I'll take the ladder down, not much behind us.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
I'll switch to UV quickly to see if it's as bad, and if it is I'll just switch on my torch and forget about the enhanced vision modes.
Also, a quick look around is in order to see if there is something I can use to ratchet the door before I go much further.
Detect (5): 4, 4 + 5 = 13

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
UV is just as bad. There's nothing apparent around which looks designed to ratchet open doors, but there are various pieces of machinery or railings which would do the trick if properly removed.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
I'll go for a piece of railing then. If I have try cleaving it with my long knife I'll try that.
