Haha, caught a small break there DP.
Roman, the Fireball is an Indirect Combat Spell, meaning the number of hits you get doesn't affect drain I believe.
Also, I am really confused as to what the hell is going on here. My guy is probably just running away, especially since his reason for being there is gone and it's all gone to shit.

Okies, the blue robes continue their chanting, one shouts to the two standing at the front.
A small fire breaks out around the feet of the two blue robes caught in the blast, seems the parquet flooring beneath the old rugs had enough polish left to dislike being heated up that much. The wall behind them is scorched and some paintings hanging on the wall are showing signs of smouldering into flame too.
**Indirect combat, as deject states, works differently to direct combat spells. Hits raise the damage value of the spell but not your drain (that's pre-set) so you don't have to gamble on the damage/drain levels. If the spell reaches the target then they can attempt to dodge it, this is why the drain is lower, direct combat spells cannot be dodged. If they succeed in dodging then no damage is caused. If they fail then they attempt to resist the damage and each hit they roll reduces this damage.**
Your spell was powerful, just that there was some very lucky rolls by the blue robed people.
Round 3. You know what to do! (Rico)
They nod and turn to the crowd, pulling large ornate knives from beneath their robes. They then start to chant too, supplying undertones to the chant already happening whilst waving their knives about above the front row audience.Blue robe wrote:Almost there, get ready to start the sacrifice!

Okay, it's now raining large blobs of black liquid from the ceiling, they're not landing on the floor however, just disappearing.
The fire by the two that Roman made toasty is flickering merrily but doesn't seem to be spreading much.
The air is now thick with magic. It rolls across the room like heat off a baking desert road. Indistinct shapes float like smoke and fog in the air, occasionally you think you see faces form, claws too.
A shot rings out, the magic so thick in the air you can almost trace the path of the bullet as it scalpels through the waves of horse at the professor, He turns toward it at blinding speed and throws up a hand. There's a blinding flash as it impacts upon him(-4 to sight based skills, ranged spells, spotting etc) and the backwash blows the blue robes and the wicca to the floor with the exception of one or two.
Roman and Pants roll to resist like it's drain please.
*Editz* Sorry, forgot to add results of the air being a bit fucked. Your spells all have variable power added by me and variable drain too because of the state of play. This turn is currently at +4 damage +3 drain. You cannot resist this. I would suggest avoiding glitches.

You would use Samedi's. Doesn't really matter does it.Dog Pants wrote:Do I use my stats or Samdedi's?
Mine: WILL 6 + CHA 7 = 13
1, 2, 2, 2, 4, 6, 6, 1, 1, 5, 1, 3, 3: 3 hits. Pfft.
Samedi: WILL 6 + CHA 6 = 12
6, 3, 2, 3, 5, 3, 2, 1, 4, 3, 5, 4: 3 hits.
Okay, you both end up on the floor from the strength of the magical blastwave, but thankfully all you've got is a bruised ass and no actual damage.
Wicca still standing
Blue robes still standing
Roman
Pants
Wicca on floor
Blue robes on floor
Blob
Faustus
The wicca who are still standing press home the advantage, the one who shouted at you before turns again and shouts
They continue casting, their spell is showing signs of nearing completion, rainbow colours are flowing from them and earthing around the room.Wicca wrote:The beast is down, but he'll be up again soon! Attack his followers as hard as you dare! Finish them and he won't get back up! Stop the two from completing the ritual or the shapes you see in the air will manifest!
The robes still standing are the two near the front with the knives, they look unsure what to do and turn to each other, then turn back to the crowd and each open the throat of two unresisting audience members, the bloody spray from each throat arcs upward into the air and stays there, little droplets of crimson mist hanging above the crowd. Unearthly screams peal across the room from an unknown source as the blood begins to collect below the ripples of black on the ceiling.

I'll take that as horse 5 with no power dice added.
Okay no drain from the spell itself, you suffer 3 stun from being in the room performing magic.
The connection you made channeling has left a sort of faint glowing line between you and your target, as the spell tears into him you see it grow beyond the one you cast.
His robes flare as it dumps him backward, knife clattering onto the floor as you smash the life out of him, he lies slumped against the lectern, coughing blood that joins the rest in the air, he's still alive, but not by much.

GroovyJoose wrote:Actually, technically for possession you use the spirits stats for the mental stats, and the physical stats are your stats + the spirits horse. Possession makes you hellish strong.
Which reminds me, I've only about 11 goes left on my Office XP install.
Okay, I'll go with Elemental Attack and Psychokinesis as my optional skills, because I don't have time to read up. So I'll direct Samedi to blast the other guy with an Elemental Attack;
Exotic Weapon 6 + Agility (Samedi) 6 + Agility (Jasper) 3 = 15
5, 5, 1, 4, 2, 4, 5, 1, 6, 6, 1, 3, 6, 2, 2: 6 hits.
It has DV 6 in some kind of 'negative energy', like cold, fire, electricity. I'd go for electricity if I get the choice, or whatever the GM chooses if not. It also halves impact armour resistance.

Right -Pants' attack -
A wind picks up from nowhere, warm and foul with the reek of swamp it rushes over the blue robed guy holding the knife and you see years of age hit him like a train.
His skin goes translucent and his flesh withers from his body. Suddenly the wind drops and he looks young again, but there's a streak of white in his hair and you can hear him wheeze. The knife almost drops from his hand as a result of his shock.
The wicca on the floor climb to heir feet, some nursing a few bruises, but nothing serious, they continue to cast, a look of determination steeling them as they sense the sudden shift in balance.
The blue robes also climb to their feet, but they know their leader is currently down and quite possibly out. Nearly all of them start casting again, but one decides to make a break for it, his robes flicker and die, the sigils fading as he panics and starts to run the length of the hall. As he get about halfway there's an unearthly screech and a blob of flesh tears into existence seemingly from nowhere.
