It seems to give all your guys some basic tactics for you. I'd got through a fair few levels before I even looked at the tactics screen, and I was doing ok. I think its as complex as you want it to be, up to a point.

It's a lot like KoTOR, with the action-pausing, controlling a party of four and levelling up. Like a simplified Neverwinter Nights without the Dungeons and Dragons bits - they're quite similar games underneath, really.

The only main menus you can do anything in are inventory and tactics - the skills and talents (such as magic) are chosen when you level up and appear on the quickbar in the order you get them (can be moved). The tactics menu can be complex if you want it to be, but the default modes are good enough unless you want a character to automatically do something specific - usually switching to them and doing it manually is good enough.

That sounds about right for me, thanks guys!
Also, who would be willing to buy a steam UK copy for me, as the usual 'steam charges me way too much' rule applies to Dragon age as well, and I'm interested in the fancy pants edition.
If it's not too much trouble for anyone, that is.

I'm slightly confused, and apparently not the only one. Bought Deluxe version on Steam, DLC window shows three things: Bonus Content, Deluxe CD Key and Deluxe Game CD Key. The in game menu seems to suggest I don't own the DLC yet though and I can't for the life of me work out how to change that.

I did get as far as making an account and registering the game with Bioware, after trauling a few forums to find out where to get the correct reigstering CD key, cos it wasn't the one Steam were trying to give me.

How to make something seemingly simple very very complicated?

Edit: nvm found it. The 'CD Key' that Steam gives you if you R-click in the games list is actually the redeem code for bonus content. The CD Key for registering the game can be found if you launch with the Origin's Launcher and click on support. Clear as mud.

You just reminded me to send back my game copy, arseholes ignored me and didn't cancel it.

Did you get the bank stuff for forren countries sorted on that borderlands kerfuffle? I'll buy you a copy of the deluxe one, but I don't do paypal so it'd be a bank transfer.

I've been playing on normal, and have been spamming my quicksave button in the beginning, but now that my characters are getting up there and I've figured out how to use everything to my advantage it's not as bad.

Normal up to lvl 8 so far and seems to be a good "normal". Not too hard, not to easy, but in the groove...

Micromanaging 1h/shield and mage but tweakin tactics for for alister and naked rogue...

I soo much like hackin n slashin and being up front in the battle, but kinda just end up clicking what target to hit next after I run out of stamina in 3 powers.

On the other hand, the mage has many choices and seems to be able to do more per mana than fighter does with stamina...

All I need is your IBAN, it seems, just PM or skype or mail or pigeon carrier me your details and I'll send you the money ASAP, as it takes a few days to cross the sea.

Well I think I'm going to get this game as a birthday present for myself once I've finished this term's Uni work.

I just finished
Spoiler:
the Circle of Mages quest and The Fade. Holy shit that Sloth Demon was hard as hell to beat. Thank God I was able to keep Wynne away from the fighting so she could heal us because my party would have been raped multiple times. I will miss being able to change to Golem Form though. Throwing those big ass rocks and knocking everyone down was awesome.
I am loving this game. I can already tell I'm going to take at least 60 hours to finish this, and I might even play it at least once more if for nothing else to experience the other origin stories. I'm playing as a Human Rogue and enjoying it a lot.

Can someone use the internet for me and tell me when this is out on PS3? I was going to wait until I'd upgraded my PC, but that will be a while off yet.

It runs veh smoothly for me and I've got options turned right up. I think in some places its very shiny but it's no oblivion with texture packs. You might well be fine with this.

Also - not wanting to complain deject but your spoiler is a bit useless, wouldn't it be better saying the quest but none of the detail so people could decide whether they're going to read it based on some information? Personally I'm just looking forward to going there now and kicking some buttock.

But to be fair I don't think I spoilered any of my stuff and they possibly give away more. (or maybe that's the other thread, I can't remember)

This ^. Mine's cranked right up at high settings and 1900x1200 and it's not slowed down once. Also, I believe the console versions don't have the zoomed-out Baldur's Gate style view, only the third person, although I might be wrong about that.

This too ^. Didn't spoil anything for me, I'd already done it (awesome quest too, very enjoyable), but some indication of what might be spoilt might be useful.

Done and done. HSBC like to hide the iban in some silly place online, I found it by looking at my previous statements and expanding the account information and there it was. It still has midland bank in the identifier.

Cheers pete! I wish there was an easier way than to ask one of you, but sadly this seems to be the only way for now.

Fucking what? You want me to create a playstation network account to get pc pre-purchase items on a game that I requested you not even send to me? I think maybe I'll pass on that. Fucking idiots.

And if sending me that means they won't accept the copy back then I'm afraid that the midden will hit the windmill.

Their whole pre-order / Deluxe / DLC / Different vendor shit has been a pile of arse narf. I managed to work out most of it eventually (I think), at least managed to get the Dragon Armour showing up, but then promptly lost the chest piece you get given for free because one of the plot starts involved being put in prison, with the usual RPG lose all your stuff consequences.
