DP, can I see the top of a doorway or anything like that below with my stalk?My guess is that the elevator still sort of works, and their base is down there. Either that or she climbed the cable. I'm not going down there until we're set up though.

Yep, looks like there's a gap between the top of the car (which you're pretty certain doesn't work from the mangled state of it) and the wall, that could well be the door of the floor below.

If we're going to climb down there first, I think having Toast down there as well would be a good idea.
