deej gives him some uni. (you never said how much the guy had so I will just give him some of that)
Yeah the only problem is that whoever has fixing you colleagues up is putting them at odds with the Company, which explains why we're here. I'll pass up the word that you guys are down here because I'm sure they would prefer helping you out instead of letting you get recruited by DarkNight or whoever.
Vet wrote:Hahaha, that's nice of you. Not many people give a shit about us any more. The company abandoned us years ago though, I can't see them changing their mind now. Since you want to watch our back though, and I appreciate that, here's a couple of freebies for you. Those guys you just waxed were DarkNight, in case you hadn't already worked it out, and they were after the same guys you are. So whoever you're looking for, they ain't DarkNight. Also, you might want to look up Wade Jacobson. He was the first to leave, and he's badass. Dante vet that SLA used as a poster child for the Chrome Warrior range. He didn't want it but he was so fucked up after surviving Dante he didn't have a lot of choice. Everyone else here got their mods by choice, so we all kind of put ourselves here, although most blame the corp. Wade though, he never had any choice.

I'll run Wade Jacobson through the computer as well as the pics of the dead DN I got before we popped them. Thanks for the tip. I respect fellow warriors, and it's a bit of a disgrace that this place exists. It's not my place to tell the company its business but leaving you all down here seems a bit wrong. We knew DarkNight was definitely involved, but we weren't sure exactly how. From the sound of it, whoever it is we're looking for might be going after DarkNight guys too. I get the feeling someone thinks they can take on the world, and eventually they're going to piss off the wrong person, after which all hell will break loose. Anyways, thanks, and watch out for yourself.

If this Wade is a Dante vet he's going to be one tough customer - and that's before you take into account he's modded up and most likely insane.
You find a few news archives about Jacobson. He fought with distinction on Dante, eventually being mortally wounded. SLA used him as a figurehead of their new Chrome Warrior gear, cybernetic enhancements which were meant to compete with Karma, rebuiding his shattered body with the best enhancements money could buy. He did a little work on the Contract Circuit, very successfully, but mostly just modelled the hardware. Rumours of Jacobson's distaste with the way he had been used faded with the Chrome Warrior as the fashion passed and SLA stopped producing the cells to power the implants.

What I can't figure out is why DarkNight at looking for him too. It certainly sounds like Wade's guys took out Ordley, but I just can't figure out their involvement at the moment.

Compy 386: 2, 9 + 4 = 15yeah sure, give me a sec. I'll also look for known DN activity in the area.
If no one has searched the other guy yet I'll do that as well.Unless Ordley and Wade Jacobson have been buying DarkNight weapons and then not paying up or something I can't think of any other connection either. Maybe they were encroaching on DN turf around here. In any case I think we should call in some shivers to clear out these bodies.

I am sort of confused, they said Wade was the first to go... not that he was actually heading something right? So like say he is being used as a poster boy again but for a different side and to convince others in Rust Alley to join.... even so, someone came a long and had to reactivate and build him.... right? Am I reading that wrong?Vet wrote: Also, you might want to look up Wade Jacobson. He was the first to leave, and he's badass.
Maybe the person who recruited him may have been another pissed ex employee with SLA as well and maybe worked in the hardware or design department too... so we could look for someone who was fired or left on bad terms.. or had/has access to this data.. from that department rather than injured? There has to be someone smart enough to rebuild the guys and savvy enought know to grab Wade.
That is my feeling but yeah.. I like to make shit up sometimes. Hope that made sense, I have verbal diarhea right now.
I"M SO LOST :p

Well then in either case I will take the uni and smoke grenades, and I guess the weapons should be divvied up amongst us so we can turn them in to the company.
Well, there isn't much on the computers about DarkNight activity. Anyone have an idea? We still have no idea where the rest of 10,000 Rad and at the moment our only lead left is this Wade Jacobson, and we don't know where he is.

I posted my idea earlier :/ Someone knew Wade and that Wade has pull in the warrior community and a grudge, someone knows how to rebuild these guys. Someone is gearing up for some sort of battle or creating an army by rebuidling the warriors... Ordley could have been supplying both and knew too much or was leaking information.deject wrote:Well, there isn't much on the computers about DarkNight activity. Anyone have an idea? I say we look for more SLA information on the Chrome Warrior project.. see who else was connected, either working for SLA still or not. The guys we just knocked off had the directions, "to Shivers that there might be a slightly higher threat." This could mean it is bigger than everyone thinks or even an traitor within SLA. I think doing a compy search on that might tell you who Wade is rolling with or has connection to. If you think I am way the hell off, just tell me.

I don't know, it just feels like we're getting distracted from our real goal which is figuring out what happened to 10,000 Rad, I guess if it came down to it we can report them dead, most likely killed by refurbished Chrome Warriors working with/for Ordley.
The only other thing I can think of is that once Wade Jacobson got refurbished and his upgrades functional again he's got a grudge to settle with the company.
My theory right now is this:
Some criminal element of downtown got the bright idea of fixing up a chrome warrior or two as some extra muscle, as they're neglected more than most downtowners and they're combat vets, so they would be capable of handling almost anything they'd likely face in downtown, short of a veteran squad, and even then they'd inflict a lot of damage. they probably came across Wade, who jumped at the chance of getting fixed up, and once his augs were fully functioning took over the operation, using the existing criminal structure to cover his involvement. Using the criminal enterprise, he's been gathering enough money to fix up as many of his fellow rustbuckets as he can, to get back at the company. He first had 10,000 Rad squad killed because they were getting too close to the operation, then when we were closing in on Ordley, he had him taken out as well because his gun dealing was about to be over, and he knew too much about the criminal enterprise.
Or, if this is somehow connected to the manchine cult business, maybe the manchine we encountered is the real brains of the operation, and is also recruiting the rustbuckets to rebuild its army.
