Sorry Roman, he's dodged it (just). Although you dont actually see what happens, you dont feel a nice meaty impact. You do feel the axe bounce off *something*, however, and theres a bit of a metallic "boing!" noise.Roman Totale wrote:Prepare to taste axe, zombie bigfoot!
Blades (6) + Blade Specialization (2) + Improved Blades (2) + Agility (5) - Wibbly (4) = 11
3 hitsI was expecting a better result than that.
Wibblys go this time. Two things happen at this point:
1) the damage you have clearly been inflicting to the thing seems to be giving him problems keeping hidden, as a bit of an outline is coming into view. Its still not that clear, but it now looks more like a humanoid bubble, rather than a wobbly shape. You can now see that its about 7ft tall, mostly covered in what seems to be a shaggy mane. Its got long, gorilla like arms, and slightly hunched shoulders: that part certainly fits with what you guys know about bandersnatches. However, theres something not quite right that you cant put your finger on; some parts that are not quite the right shape or apparent texture.
In game terms, this means the modifier for wibblyness is halved.
2) he's reacted to chopper for the first time. Now that you can see a clearer outline, you can make out that he had his back to chopper. The axe boinging off him is almost simultaneous with him becoming clearer and turning to face chopper. Its almost like he was unaware of being hit before.
In case you havent guessed already, hes now going to make a swing for Chopper. He rolls 5 hits; time for a dodge roll from Chopper!

You'se need to roll the body + your impact armour amount (you mentioned a coat at the end of the first run and near the start of this one that went over your jumpsuit) +/- modifiers such as toughness or any ninja skills that mod it, it might also be -1 ap like mine was, but joose can give you a definite on that. So that's 12 (maybe 11) to roll.

Right, another narrow burst of 10 shells (+9dv for narrow burst)
agility 6 long arms 5 = 11
+2 smartlink +2 take aim -1 close combat -1 recoil* -2 wibbly = 11
woop! - 5 hits
(anyone else find those shadowrun dice rather slow at loading tonight?)
Joose, if Chopper and Frank are both attacking this thing, does it give us positive mods for landing hits? Or just make it a bit harder for big wibbly hairy yeti thing to dodge?
Wish I'd packed some high-ex rounds for the shotty, would have killed the fucker faster. All I've got are regular and a drum of stick n shock and it's not like we want to subdue the thing!
*Think I've worked recoil out now -5 for a long burst, but I've got 4 points of stabilization on my gun. I think the bit about ignoring it completely is if it's a single full auto burst in a round.

Both of you attacking just makes it harder for him to dodge.
Also, you forgot to take a -1 for the stun damage.
On the other hand, it would matter anyway: The shot slams into what is now quite apparently the things back. It snaps into clear view, and slumps to the floor, oozing all over.
COMBAT END! (at last)
You can now see that it is, indeed, a Bandersnatch. Well, you presume it is: none of you *really* know what one looks like. However, it looks like what you expect it to look like, a fucked up looking Sasquatch. What you are fairly sure is *not* a normal thing for Bandersnatches is the large amounts of metal stuff. Theres a few plates here and there that suggests some kind of cyberwear, and a few things that look like badly healed surgical scars.
He's clearly taken a lot of damage tonight, too. His whole left hand side is scorched and shrapnel filled, and he has holes (both fist, shot and axe shaped) all over.
He's still twitching a little.
So what you guys doing now? I'm not sure exactly how long that combat took, and can't be arsed to work it out exactly. Lets say it was ~10 mins.
