I'll pop into IR to see if there's still anyone in the van.

Still doesn't help you see through the armoured side, which is pretty warm itself at any rate. It does help you pick out some gruesomely mangled Downtowners among the rubble though.

Anyone else close? Otherwise I'm going in alone.

I am, but I'm probably not going to be much help. I'll park up and try and keep the civvies back out of the way. For what its worth, I'll also draw my FEN. Can I call for an ambulance or something similar?

You can if you like. There are a few types - LAD have lovely armoured ambulances, Medical Shivers have APCs, but most likely Booper will provide a service to the civilians of Mort (for free to most, since there's no point taking money the company gives them for nothing anyway) in the form of a beat up van and a couple of tired but well meaning medics. They say they'll be there in approximately half an hour.

Okay, following up on Deject's last post. As you edge through the wreckage of the shop front a few of the mangled bodies stir. The cab looks empty, but there's a slight scuffling and groaning coming from within.

I'll flick the AR to full auto and ready the underbarrel shotgun as well. I'll radio to Hal: "Hal, how's that guy who fell out the back doing? I don't need anyone coming up behind me for an easy headshot."

Before waiting for a response I'll sneak up to the van and see if I can get a view inside with the AV stalk.

There's a guy in a suit scrabbling about in pain in the footwell. He's clutching a DN pistol and looking scared. He doesn't notice the AV stalk.

I'll get my most intimidating voice on and shout at him. "DROP THE GUN NOW. DO IT NOW OR I WILL KILL YOU."

He doesn't look in a fighting mood, admittedly, but he doesn't drop the gun. He just looks panicky.

Well, I gave him fair warning at least. I'll try to open the door.

It opens fairly easily. Despite the damage to the van the chassis seems intact. Pulling the door opens the bloke to start backing away and shakily levelling the handgun at you.

Just in the nick of time! The guy tosses the gun into the opposite footwell in front of Deject and starts clutching his arms to his chest in pain.

I'll grab him and drag him out of the van.
Is there anyone else? How many more of you are there?

He howls in pain as you wrench him out but manages to compose himself enough to shake his head.
