Just the one. To shoot the other guy (who is running away) I need to find a clear spot, bring to bare on him, aim, and fire.

I think we have misunderstandings here, so let's pause to clarify. My understanding is (was):

Deject went and hid in an ally at one end of the tunnel. He can see most of it.
Punkchuck went and hid in an alley at the other end. She can see the bit Deject can't.
Everyone else went into the bar at Punkchuck's end and was watching through the window. They can also see pretty much the same as Punkchuck.

The two dudes arruve at Deject's end and start talking and handing over money. Working down they become visible to the others too, who take aim.

Aims have been taken, Eraser walks out of the bar. The targets see him instantly and we go into bullet time as one makes to prime then drop the grenade.

He acts in two phases, priming the grenade, then dropping it. Because you didn't know he was making combat actions you couldn't act in this semi-bullet time. When he drops the grenade, you all come into bullet time.

On 1, they both set off running, the grenade lands, Grimmie fires.

As soon as he sees the grenade, deej takes the shot.

Assuming maximum bonus for aiming:

Bonuses:
+5 for aiming
+1 bipod
+1 telescopic sight
+1 laser painter (possible)

Negatives:
-2 for aiming at leg
-3 for running (possible)

I'll roll without the possibles, as I don't know if I should use them, so with my skill of 8, I have a +13 modifier.

and lol I get a low roll.
3, 3 + 13 = 19

So it could also be a 20, 17, or 16, though they're all hits.

I'll also take aim again on the leg.

Since this is all happening in .8 of a second, and Deject and Grimmie never did finish their 'your right or my right' conversation, I rolled* to see if they had chosen the same target. And they did. So Deject hits the guy in the leg a fraction of a second before his head erupts.

*Actually I asked Anery to pick a number between one and ten, odds being you both shot the same guy. He chose 5.

Fucking stormers. well then how close am I to the grenade right now, and would it be possible to pass it without being in the blast radius?

If I can avoid the blast radius or possibly only enter the secondary blast radius then I want to chase the guy down at full speed.

Kt'rr is going to come out from the bar, and bring to bear on the remaining dood. As he does this, he starts screaming some unintelligable Shaktar battlecry.

WARNING! WARNING! Shaktar only fight to kill, so if Kt'rr actually has to join combat properly, the guy is toast. Sorry!

Also, im still a bit confused as to what direction the guy is running in.

Dirk <s>and Kt'rr</s> still have to move, and Eraser has to pick an action before we jump into phase two, I think.

<b>PS.</b>
I'll draw a mappy thing, pass it by dogpants etc when I get home.

Well if you must kill the guy leave his face intact so he can possibly be identified. *glares at grimmie*

I am pretty sure the guy is running out of Rust Alley, away from all of us. At this point, I have the best chance to catch him but I'd rather not be asploded by the grenade if possible. Dirk could probably Reality Fold right up next to him as well. Cutter is probably close to as fast as I am, but the rest of you are probably too far away to catch up to the guy.

As long as I can stay like 12m away from the grenade I'm taking off after the guy at full steam.

He can't be running away from all of you, Rust Alley only has two ends and Deject is at one, the rest are at the other. Since Eraser came from the other end, they're running towards Deject. The grenade is about 50m from you Deej and so you won't have to pass it at all.

On 2 then, since nobody else can do anything other than move a few meters.

The smoke grenade pops, the running guy (now on the other side of the smoke from everyone but Deject) pulls an SMG with one hand and what looks like a flare with the other. And carries on running towards Deject.

Righto, in that case Kt'rr will sprint forward to get through the smoke. He'll be doing that for the next few phases, untill he gets through.

Belting it after the runner, throwing knife in hand (standard, not MAC)

Joose: It'll take you 13 phases to get there, including a phase to fling the door of the bar open.

Oh well I totally misunderstood where I was in relation to them then. I didn't realize they were between me and the rest of the squad. In that case, I won't be revealing my position or running at all, just bringing to bear on 2 and firing on 3.

Rifle (8) - Wild Shot (3) - Running Target (2) = 5, 10 + 3 = 18

On 4 I will take aim and fire again on 5.

-4 for range, -3 not -2 for running (-2 is when it's you running). Still a hit though.

 fair enough. Take you time, guys!

well wait I have the scope and bipod too, so that's a +2 but I doubt it matters much.

Posted: May 6th, 2009, 17:12
by Dog Pants
You don't get the scope on a wild shot, but you're right about the bipod. Next time you shoot it'll only be -2 for range as he comes into medium range.

Am I in position to make another shot? I'm using my IR 1000m scope - so shattered glass and smoke shouldn't make a whole lot of difference.
