Woohoo! I now have
Jumping Flash and you can get it too:

It's still as good as it used to be and almost as good as Mario 64 imo. Not so much depth and the graphics aren't as good but similar in game play.

Something you might not know about the OE firmware; hold down the two shoulder buttons when switching it on and you get a handy little menu. Here you can turn off the boot-up PSP logo and enable USB access without booting up completely, makes things a little quicker. There's other options as well.
Does anyone still need a copy of GTA:LCS for downgrading? I can post it tomorrow.

That's handy. Haven't upgraded to the C release of 3.03 yet, but this has made me want to do it. That and being able to delete iso's from the XMB as well.

3.10 OE-A has now been released, and I have uploaded all the required files to /downloads, and changed the details of the first post to help you out.
Can someone post a link to the most recent downgrade 2.8*+ out there, and I can update the first post with details on how to downgrade using GTA LCS as well.
That way we have one post with a complete how to on downgrading/upgrading your firmware to OE.

Cheers Spoodie, this is a very addictive game!
Also found myself playing Tomb Radier for an hour or so yesterday, the original and the best.
This was after playing Metal Gear Portable Ops which made me want to eat my PSP after playing for 10 minutes.

That tasty, eh?
What's wrong with it?
Also, i has a question about PS1 games on the PSP, what happens about the PSP only have 2 shoulder buttons whilst most PS1 games required 4?

You can change the buttons by hitting select, and then you go into an options menu.
It can get a bit weird, but luckily most PS1 games don't use all 4 shoulder buttons, but perhaps someone else here has had this issue and has had to get around it somehow.

Not sure about a definitive answer but Tomb Radier for example uses the analogue stick push left and right as the alt shoulder buttons for sidestep, works pretty well, most PS games you could use either the analogue or 4 way pad for movement leaves the PSP analogue pad free to replace the shoulder buttons

I havn't done the downgrade yet or put a PS1 Emulator on my psp, what kind of memory will it take because i only have like a 10mb stick, cant be bothered to buy i new one but i might if i can play ff7 on PSP

Games range from 15MB to 1.4GB.
Almost all the games are under 1Gb for those of us with 1GB memory sticks, with the majority of PSP games coming in at around the 450MB-600MB mark, but it does vary.
PSOne games don't take up much more than 200MB per game.
To be honest, you'd make your money back in no time as you can now get a Sony Pro Duo for the following prices from
http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Sony due to the recent release of the 8GB card
512MB = £13.99
1GB = £17.99
2GB = £28.99
4GB = £55.99
8GB = £119.99

I'm on 2.0 and i need 2.8. Does anyone know how i can upgrade to just 2.8 rather than jumping past it.

I think LocoRoco is 2.8... you could rent it and use the on-disc updater.
I'm sure the firmware will be downloadable from somewhere though. Try

Haha, this.

I've decided I'd like a PSP as it would be nice to have some portable gaming, and if I understand correctly (possible, but unlikely) you can also play AVIs on them which would be all of teh whin. However, not got the cash to buy one now so I'm likely to wait for a mobile upgrade and get one in a free gift deal, but thats not until August.

Are PSPs worth getting?

Yes, providing you get one that can be downgraded for

, then you'll never be stuck for gaming on the go again (and it's great whilst having a shit too).
You'd probably be better off buying a second hand one cheaper, and ordering a mahoosive memory card off mymemory.co.uk instead, but double check the firmware version before you buy

Oh yeah, incase none of you noticed, version 3.40 OE-A is out now, and you can find it in /downloads.
I put it there last week, and only just remembered about it.
I'll let someone else edit the guide if they want to

I didn't even realise 3.40 Official was out! I wonder what new features they have...

Well what firmwares are good, and which ones are to be avoided? There have been a few for sale at work recently, but they've not been all that cheap. Also, do they play AVIs, as that's fairly important to me given the amount of floor-based stuff I have! Are all PSP games generally sweepable too?
