btw. CSS very cheap. If i buy another copy, lets say for a friend and i add it to my account, can i pass that on in the same way i could with ep1 and the orangebox?

if you try doing it the way you describe, it will tell you on the purchase page that you will lose duplicate copies. The only games that you can gift in that fashion are Half-Life 2 and HL2: Episode One.
Just use the Purchase as a Gift button instead of Purchase for Myself.

Sort of a simple-man's Diablo with bloody, gibby asplosions and WoW graphics.
