Damn, sorry. I didn't see this thread updated.
I'll ask the guys in the van if they know about the lobby doors, or the mechanisms connected to them, seeing as they've been studying the plans a lot longer than I have.
Might be worth just going for the stealthy route - did I hear right that there's already a squad down below guarding the maintenance hatches, can we contact them easily?

None of them know - they're dealing with the stuff one the outside. However, the Shiver captain says give him a minute and he'll find out.
There's a squad on their way down into the sewers to cover the bottom hatch.
A couple of minutes later a Shiver brings a girl in a suit over to you. Turns out she's the receptionist, and should know the ins and outs of the building's lobby. She tells you that the rear doors are opened by a switch on the reception desk.

I'll let Deject know about the doors and try to contact the squad down below.
Grimmie wrote:Hey boys and girls, assault squad here.
We were wondering if one of you brave fellas would mind sticking your heads up into that hatch you're guarding to see if there's any nasties guarding the tunnels. If you give us the all-clear then we might come down and take that as our route into the building. Lobby doesn't seem too safe.
Any other ideas?
Deject and I could try and use our climbing gear to get to the fourth floor and then pull the rest of the squad up?

The Ops in the sewers respond;
Op on radio wrote:Aye, nae proabs. 'S boran as shite doon here.
And shortly afterwards;
Op on radio wrote:Cannae help ya there, pal. It's locked fae tha o'er side.
Another squad pipes up;
Second Op wrote:This is Gory Banks, leader of squad Beaming Seaguls down on sub-street. We've got a heavy maint door ahead of us here. Looks like it has an electronic lock on it. Reckon it should be unlocked 'cos of the fire alarm. Want me to send someone to check it out?

Pete, I think that is a given seeing as it is one of Pants's runs. The question is which entry point is a trap. The second question involves thinking out the box for other entry points.

Is there any way short of breaking down the door to get in this way? I'd much rather not try my luck at the front door.

Brainrot gestures at the aforementioned electronics.
Brainrot wrote:I'd reckon one of those things is an alarm and if it is, whoever designed this probably wasn't as stupid to leave some electric plug just lying around out here. 'Course we could try just kicking it down, but I'm not sure a whole executive board would qualify as acceptable casualties.
Addressing the people at the party van:
Brainrot wrote:Anyone over there knows if the electronics on this can be tweaked with?
(consider that last line void if the aforementioned electronics are all inside)

Sneak (4): 7, 2 + 4 = 13
Hide (4): 4, 7 + 4 = 15
Detect (4): 3, 5 + 4 = 12

There's not a great deal of difference in your view from the front. The lobby is pretty transparent. The front doors are also quite large and have a sort of airlock system common in expensive buildings in Mort to keep the rain out. They look to be automatic, but with nobody going in and out you can't tell if they're working.

Christ, its a good job im not still playing Toast. We would be picking up tiny bits of executive by now.
For what its worth, I say we go for the maintenance door. Any of the entrances might be a trap, and a door in the basement or parking garage or whatever it is seems to me to be slightly more subtle than trying to wander in through the reception.

Okay, I was wondering if team leader Dirk was gonna pipe up or not, but I guess we'll go for the maintenance door by the Beaming Seagulls. Although, I have a baaaad feeling about this.
Grimmie to Beaming Seagulls wrote:Hey, Gory. Yeah that'd be handy. Just a quick once-over to see if there are any guns pointed down it.
We'll be down there as soon as we can be, keep up the good work.

Shit it. Wish I'd spent points in electronic lockpick now..

Airlocks sound like something designed to kill us.
I'm really not sure what's more likely to have an alarm attached though, there's a logical reason and counter-reason for each and every entrance so far.

Any merit to my previous suggestion of scaling the building to reach the floor above the lobby and smashing the window through?

Only if you can think of a way of getting half a ton of heavily armoured Shaktar up there with you.
Although, you guys could do that whilst I make a load of noise downstairs to distract them. I think that would probably be a bad idea though.

That might be a good idea. What windows are there on the next couple levels up from the ground floor?
