Uh, yeah... I accidentally took it off too...

Don't forget you can also get more stuff by playing Dragon Age Journeys, although I'm not sure the ones I've had have been worth the several hours it took me to get them.

2 items:
1 - Belt 5% resists
2 - Neck 5% <strike>resists</strike> damage

Paired up they are quite nice and still wearing at lvl 8 since really nothing else has been available yet. But, there was no way I was going to play 3x thru for the other item.

The golem is free with any version of DA:O. The Warden's Keep you have to buy if you didn't get the Deluxe version.

I like this game. I started off as a wood Elf, quite an interesting start to the game.

Dwarf commoner is an interesting start as well. Obviously I don't know how they compare but I want to see them all now.

I was really enjoying the game until I got to a bit with about 15-20 enemies (not all at once) and it became a bit of a boring war of attrition, that killed me a couple of times. Once I worked out an approach that worked it wasn't very satisfying.

Human Noble here, which was also quite interesting. The storytelling is very good I'm finding.

Attack at nightfall? I started to dislike the game at that point, but I also found a crappy way of doing it and got through. Other forums claim it to be the worst quest in the game, and so far I'd agree.

The reviews ive seen have often said that the only major negative point for the game is occasional massive difficulty spikes.

As for the start of the game, I played as a city elf to start with, which was...dramatic. Being me though, I couldnt help giving some of the others a quick go, and they are all pretty good, and a totally different "feel". The mage I found especially interesting.

Im a big softy though, so my favourite bit of the whole game so far is my doggy. He's actually a bit shit as a party member, but hell....hes my doggy! aww, look at his little tail.

I loved that as well and don't use him either. Mine is called Jerk, after the dog owned by the almost famous comedy blogger and podcaster Michael Legge.

Yes, my complaint was directed at the Attack At Nightfall mission. I'm glad I'm not alone and it's not the norm. My whack-a-mole tactic worked quite well in the end though; aim all 4 party members at each unit as it appears, rinse and repeat.

I'm still deciding on if I should get the PS3 or PC version. Is there or will there (do you think) be online co-op on the PC version?

On the basis of the control system alone I'd go for the PC version. I can imagine it being hard work without a mouse and the higher resolution/proximity to the screen. Unless they've been very clever in adapting the control system and presentation on the console versions.

I don't have a doggy yet :(

At what point do the stories converge, or at least you go to the same locations and the same things happen? I do want to try out the other starts, but just wondered if they were an hour or so or if they affected the whole game.

I'm an elf mage, not sure what sort of elf, but I don't think it matters as all mages are supposed to be the mage tower place. Without being too specific and risking spoilers, but saying enough that other people can tell if their story converges:
Started in mage tower and did initiation, took first opportunity to rebel, got into trouble but was recruited by visiting Grey Warden. Got a party member. Big battle, during which I had a relatively easy duty. Got another party member. Went N to a small town, got two party members. Went to Redcliffe where there was a battle with about 50 respawning enemies, took ages but eventually they stop respawning. I pulled them towards the NPCs so they could help me, mostly. Sorted stuff in castle, though not to the satisfaction of some of my party members.

Apart from possibly better graphics, it was the way you can use the mouse to drag inventory items, and expand the quickbar that convinced me to get the PC version. Some things, like having to hold down two mouse buttons all the time to move and trying to select enemies in a bunch are not so good on the PC.

Then I would say it's when you get to that run-down fortress where you get your first party member.

Seeing as this is a bioware game and all, I'll probably get this at one point, but I'd like to know what it's like in terms of gameplay, would you say it's like KOTOR or is it more difficult, since complex stuff and a million different menus tend to throw me off.

:above:

Although even after that, you get some things going quite differently depending on race/background

The only thing complex about it is the tactics and that's purely optional.(afaik @ lvl8) /edit then again, I've been micromanaging...

But if you are like me, you'll spend way too much analyzing everything and trying to know everything b4 you take it off pause.

As far as I can tell after 8 lvls is that its like KOTOR, Its quite simple once you get the newness out of your system and just have fun with it. Its story driven like KOTOR and your skillz/equpment are not all that important. Just take one skilltree and raise up your stats to acquire them.
