Frank wrote:How much extra am I looking at for keeping the clinic in one piece Mr Pastukhov? It may well be that I'd spend more in sweat and explosive than I get back, in which case it'll be in bits and I'll be in the bar.
Frank wrote:Leland, I think that once we get below ground level then we will find some good stuff.

What's good money to us isn't the same as good money to a wage slave in a hurry. We can probably clean up some fairly decent electronics, maybe a security post to clear the guns from too. It costs more to remove hardware than it does to get new stuff, so it gets dumped all the time.

The fact that it was researching all kinds of weird shit means there's probably some fancy techno drugs down there too, they always sell well in the right markets.

Frank wrote:Well that's certainly enough to make me sit down and think about how to work it.
Frank wrote:Leland, Chopper, Al, I've got all the information I need. I'm going to collect the bomb and timing circuit and head over to my shop, it's not too far from here.

I'll probably need a few hours to work out my sums for keeping the clinic up. In that time you should be able to convert some of the torches I've got lying around, up the voltage and fit uv bulbs, that kinda thing.

I've got mixed feelings about when we should do the job, night time always allows for more covert infil and exfil, but the ghouls are more likely to be sleeping or at least less alert during the day.

Mr Pastukhov, I'll take the bomb and timing circuit if you've got them nearby, you've got my number and address, if you can give it to these guys then they can catch me up. I've heard all I need to.

I'm not even going to try to roleplay my vacancy while I've been away all week.
Al wrote:You're right Frank, there's no hardened soldier under this suit. I specialise more in the intelligence and 'social interfacing' aspects of our profession. I've gotta say I'm not thrilled at the prospects of a combat mission, but the team's a team so I'm not going to stay at home and wait for your return. I guess I'd best get myself some decent armour and start thinking about learning to shoot.

I didn't think I'd need to have an excuse. The game's moved a lot faster than I expected :p

You may have been away all week but we haven't exactly done much. As for learning skills in a hurry, I think if you've got a sim module or datajack you can buy a knowsoft and have it overwrite your brain with the knowledge of how to shoot. I'm not 100% about that and they are a tad expensive, rating 1-5, cost is 1k nuyen x rating.

I don't have any cyberware. I'll have to take my time on the shooting, but I reckon I can get me some better armour and some flechette ammo.

Can we all head off now to discuss tactics? I'd rather not plan this stuff where everyone can hear us.

She is probably Pastukhovs bodyguard, he seems to know her. But it's still better if we move somewhere else like you said, never know who's watching.

Mr Pastukhov wrote:So it is agreed? Excellent. There is no time requirement, but with children disappearing, better sooner than later. I shall get the bomb delivered to your workshop, Mr Nazum. It will be there shortly.
He scoops up the little sound barrier widget, turns it off and pockets it. He does his funny little half stand thing. Although hes being quite polite about it, its pretty clear that he wants you to bugger off now everything is agreed.

Frank wrote:Right, time to go. Thanks for delivering the explosive and the timer Mr Pastukhov, easier and safer than me taking them back to my shop on foot!
*reaches to shake hands with Pastukhov*
Frank wrote:Right guys, you're all welcome to head back to mine, we can work out a plan of attack whilst I look over how I'm going to save the clinic.

There's a shop for you to look round and try various weapons and armour out for size, it's got a vr range for trying out the guns, I keep telling them to put a real one in, but the insurance is apparently not worth it. Al might be able to sweet talk a deal or two if your with me, but those sales reps are hard-nosed bastards.

If you don't want to, no bother. I've got your numbers, I'll shout you when I'm ready.
Joose, I take it asking the guys to shop is okay? I don't want to cheat their chances of finding better armour/weapons if they want they stuff.

Also, to work out plans to correctly blow up the lift shaft and stop the clinic collapsing, what tests do I need to roll on? An extended demolitions/logic one for working up a plan, and then when we're there in the facility a test versus the concrete of the lift shaft as if it was a barrier?

Al wrote:Sounds like a plan. Probably be a good idea to have a browse through the hardware on offer, I think we'll need to go in heavy on this one. If you need me to try and bring someone round to your way of thinking while we're there then I can do that too.
I'm going to go and have a look at all the hardware stuff in that gun-porn book.

Okay, hows about this:

Mortimer Greatcoat - 6/5, avail 8, 3000Y

The Mortimer coat can go over my regular Actioneer suit (not that it matters what goes underneath) to offer more protection and some chemical protection too.

Weapon wise, I'll stick with my Ruger and load it up with flechette rounds. Assuming ghouls are unarmoured one of those bad boys should spoil their day.

I'll also pick up a gas mask (100Y), for that little bit extra protection, a rating 6 medikit (600Y) 'cos I bloody need one, and three each of antidote (rating 6, 900Y total) and trauma patches (1500Y total).

Assuming I get all that, and I don't think any of it is particularly difficult to find (especially not for me), that comes to 6,100Y. Do you take Mastercard?

Guys I'm heading back to my place to pick some stuff up, then I'll meet you at Frank's shop. See you in a few.
I'm assuming Frank has given me an address.

Technically the rules say the armour rating won't stack, only the best bit of armour counts. I think Joose decided that he'd change that though.

The form fitting body armour stacks with whatever else your wearing, it's on page 48 of arsenal if you want to be sure of more protection. It also has half encumbrance too, handy for those who don't want to be shuffling because of too much armour.
