I was drunk at the time. I have now learnt to use Duck Tape to stop her pelvis cracking, the vet bills were getting silly.

That's an excellent name for a cat!

Sadly, Spazmo my lovely little bundle of energy cat has just had to be put to sleep. She didn't even make her third birthday.
She was whacked on the back end by a car on Saturday. Despite not breaking anything, there was damage to her spine and she was bleeding into her bladder.
I've had cats before and lost them to cars, but Spazmo was a really lovely little cat. I am absolutely heartbroken at the moment

Incidentally, my pet mouse Bianca died yesterday. I didn't think I would care but death, no matter to whom it happens, always comes as an unpleasant surprise. My condolences Sheriff.

I'm not generally an overly sentimental person, but this has been a real kick in the teeth. Until this morning it looked like she was just a bit bruised. We took her to the emergency vet yesterday (£109 out of hours fee before any treatment: oof) and he seemed fairly positive, if a little cautious. She was drinking and eating OK and still quite perky. When I picked her up this morning to take her in to her regular vet though, she was literally pissing blood and I had pretty much prepared myself for the worst.
Had it been a few broken bones I'd have paid anything to get her back to health, but internal bleeding is just too much for a delicate cats frame to take. If she had been an old rescue cat, as we have had in the past, then you just chalk it up to time and tide, but she was still a bundle fun, and I regularly spent loads of time playing with her.
So yeah, utterly shit is about 10% of how I feel right now. Apologies for the cathartic blog post, and thanks for the kind thoughts. God speed to your little moose as well, Mr J. We've got one running the house you can have

Can't seem to get rid of the blighter (using humane trap and release, natch).

That's rubbish mate, sorry to hear that. I've had cats that have lived to a ripe old age, and it's still rubbish when you lose them.
When I split up with the ex, I had to leave her with my cat, Hugo. He was brilliant, no idea how he's doing now, but he was only young. Couldn't take him with me sadly.
Anyway, my condolences.
