So do we reckon they managed to meet with their chromey contacts, or they were shooing the Jos off with blasty guns?

I am hoping Grimmie had the common sense to get out of that little storage level and stop pretending to be someone important.

If so, I guess I'll be skulking around with Dirk.

Haha, Grimmie's realises that there's also a back entrance not being watched by you guys :D

The van accelerates off away from the warehouse at right angles to the way you're facing it. Joose races after it in his coupe, wheels screeching, after sliding it round the side of the factory. Joose, please make a Drive Civilian roll and state just how fast and mental your driving will be;

Old Person In Middle Lane of M6 - +2
Cruising - no modifier
Hurrying - -2
Racing - -4
Ludicrous Speed - -6

Deject, it'll take you a little while to get moving but not too long. I'm not going to run this in bullet time if I can help it.

Aw man! I totally meant to suggest someone had a look around the back, and totally forgot to actually say that. Whoops!

Lets see if I can make up for it with driving awesomeness. Hal is daring enough, but not a raging psychotic, so im going to go for Racing at a -4, which with my drive at 5 gives me a +1. This could go wrong:

Roll(2d10)+1:
5,7,+1
Total:13

Stunningly unamazing! But not actually shit either! I can live with that. I hope Hal lives with that.
I'm going to make sure I keep the rest of the team up to date with where I am and where I'm going over coms, in case we get totally split up. I'm aiming for keeping close enough to not loose them, but at the same time not get close enough for them to be able to easily shoot my lovely car.

You go screeching around the corner into sight of the retreating van. Fortunately traffic is pretty light in Downtown, with only a few Johannas cars or beat up old taxis about. The van is about 400m away, weaving about but not moving that fast. Deject, you leap onto your bike. A Drive Motorbike roll with the same options as Joose please.

Whilst the white knuckle car chase proceeds, I'll have a look around the factory for CLUES. How big is this place? Is there a certain number of rolls I'd need to do?

Edit: I've been playing a bit of LA Noire recently, so Dirk will probably move around awkwardly, occasionally get his face stuck to a wall, and randomly inspect empty beer bottles.

Just make one roll and we can zoom in on any details you fancy investigating further with more rolls if needed.

Holy frijoles! I'll have to invent some extra clues for you. Isn't that nice?

This will probably take the duration of the chase and then some, but I'll post it now anyway so you can mull it over.

The Snappers seem to have got through the firefight unharmed. Not too surprising, the three Hal and Eraser saw earlier are there in their big powersuits, as well as half a dozen more in what looks like beefed up Blocker. Scattered around are half a dozen or so corpses with varying degrees of perforation. Four are armoured in cheap Blocker rip-offs and carrying DN assault rifles. Another is wearing a suit and looks to have fared pretty badly on the end of no small volume of buckshot. The last looks unarmoured, but on closer inspection appears to be mechanical.

Eraser is in Hal's car, kinda squidged into the passenger seat best as a stormer can be

Sorry, but a Stormer in Powercell would be more than a squidge into a Hijoule (or equivalent). You'd have to rip the seats out and roof off.

Good point, Well, I'll watch Hal drive away then and go to the warehouse :)

My skillz with bike driving aren't so hot, so I'll not go quite as fast as Hal, just at Hurrying speed.

Drive, Motorcycle (3) - Hurrying (2): 3, 10 + 1 = 14

In heavier traffic that would probably be good enough to catch up with Hal, but as it is you can still pretty much keep up as they both swerve off up the road.

The van is hammering it flat out, which still isn't nearly enough to outrun either of you two, and fishtails a bit as it bounces off a cab. By way of a bit of background, the vans on Mort used by SLA (which pretty much all are, or have been and sold as surplus) are almost like armoured cars. Even low value stock being moved from the Downtown factories to the gauss stations is a juicy target for gangs, rival companies, and Downtowners fancying their chances. So the cab comes off a lot worse, and if the van is dented it isn't noticeable among the rest of the dents and scrapes it already had.

Joose is only a few hundred meters behind the careering van when it takes a wide berth around a corner, making it almost gracefully, but taking out a pedestrian too. Would the pursuers care to make a roll to pull a similar manoeuvre?

yikes, that was a bit close.

Joose makes it round the corner by virtue of slowing down a bit. The turn doesn't exactly lose ground, since the Hijoule handles like a roller skate and the van like a battleship, but not as much ground is gained as on the straight.

Hurrying as last time: 7, 7 + 1 = 15

Deject tears around the corner, making up some of the distance between himself and Hal. Hal, meanwhile, is only a hundred or so meters behind the van. Back on straight road, one of the van's back doors swings open and an unarmoured guy in civilian clothing appears waving a large pistol of some sort. It's hard to say what it is at this distance while driving.

Joose, at this speed you're holding your distance. You can make another roll to accelerate up to whichever speed you want, or to start swerving to make yourself a harder target (additional -2) or both if you like. Same goes for you Deej, although you're steadily catching up now.
