Doesn't sound bad, apart from the coffee thing.
Tell me more of the rice cooker sous vide.

I'm in posession of one of the 'Sous vide majik' units. It's overpriced but now idispensable.
I'm sure it is bodgeable from generic units.

I just went to the Hestonified Little Chef at Kettering.
Was actually very good food, and pretty cheap.

Trying a new pork belly cooking method today.
Involves boiling water and a fair bit of pissing about, but the crackling looks very promising.

I bought a
slow cooker this week. Done a couple of stew things in it, just added meat, beer, veg and waited eight hours. Even made sprouts edible.
Has anyone got any other cunning uses for one, or interesting recipes? Mine only came with instructions on how to turn it on.

Add something like
this (or work out it's running temps) and you've got an easy-ish way to do sous vide.

Mrs Pants makes chilli in hers. That's about all I know.

Mrs Joose uses a slow cooker for all sorts. Stews and chilli and suchlike normally, but apparently you can use it to slow cook meat too. Dont ask me the details though, my cooking knowledge stops at stirfry.

I've got a cast iron casserole dish I love slow cooking in, done this a couple of times but without the pie bit, just made the pie mix as a casserole, made with Jennings Sneck Lifter it was epic.
