It disappears. Last image you received was a dark, empty looking corridor, and then static.Grimmie wrote:I'll do so, cautiously.

Pffft. giving single malt to the tramps? Should have filtered some petrol out Nik's van instead.
Frank wrote:five by five on the warning Nik. These tramps are showing a wary respect for the place too. Looks like we've got a lot more than we bargained for.
Frank, to N-zo wrote:Hey dude. You get anything other than address for this place in the barrens? Some weirdness happening, Niks snooper drone got eaten by static in an empty coridoor and there's some old tramps having a good laugh at us turning up 'without an invite' as they put it. Anything you can find dude, I hate surprises. If it's electronic in nature we'll need you out here I guess.
Frank, message to Leland's pan wrote:Hey, did you check the tramps out when you had a look at the astral goings on? They seem to have a wary respect as to what's going on in that place, but how do they know? Why are they hanging around outside here of all places? Possibly just paranoia but I don't like what happened to Nik's snooper.

Frank wrote:Leland, until we get more from the tramps or N-zo, I think the best thing is to keep you out of astral in regard to inside that place. If I go down bleeding and dying then you can possibly drag me out and let my body heal itself or stick me on Nik's healing drone. If you go down there ain't jack shit we can do about it.
N-zo, rumours, heresay, anything floating around friends of yours? Anything you can get us is a big bonus. If you turn up nothing then don't worry about it, you tried. If you think you might be able to crack this place from on site then that's your prerogative. I don't think you'll get much joy here though.
We'll lean on the tramps a bit more, then we'll either knock and be cheeky, or kick the door in and see what rears it's head at us.

Joose, seeing as my dragonfly is probably nearly the same depth as the door and probably didnt get too far, do I reckon I could send my centipede in there to retrieve it without losing it to the same fate?Nikolai wrote:N-zo, I saw empty corridor, and then nothing.
Either someone dropped weight on drone from above, or drone has gone offline.
Are there any programs I can run to see what the last few processes that went through its brain was? Can I run Edit to try and enhance the last recorded image and check to see anything suspicious?

Also, I swept the anniversary rule book.
It's very nice. I would like it in paper form.
Where can I get it from cheap?

You can try, but the centipede may end up with the same fate.Grimmie wrote: Joose, seeing as my dragonfly is probably nearly the same depth as the door and probably didnt get too far, do I reckon I could send my centipede in there to retrieve it without losing it to the same fate?
If its just signal jamming, like deject suggests, then the drone is probably still on and working, just sat there waiting for instructions its not going to get. If thats the case, then simply recovering it will allow to to check out its memory. Are there any programs I can run to see what the last few processes that went through its brain was? If its been squished, you would need to try and recover the memory hardware, load it up in something, and see what you can recover.
It is lovely, but alas, theres nowhere you can get a print copy from yet, as its only been released in pdf. Once it comes out, I'll be getting one too! Also, I swept the anniversary rule book.

Meanwhile, tramp 2 is merrily glugging away on your scotch. You may need a new one after this.
Tramp 1 wrote:heeeeeeh hehehe he, dunno whats in there, magic or what. Y'see people comin and goin, but only them as supposed to. Knew a few guys went in there, get out the rain, they didnt come back out again though. Nope, I wouldn't go in there for anythin.

Front door is pretty feeble, and swings open with a nasty crunching noise.
The corridor within is dark, but there's enough light to see that there's not much in there. You can see a door directly opposite you, with what appears to be a small drone sticking out from underneath it. Looks familiar.
Next to that there's some stairs heading down towards the cellar. All the other doors have large, thick metal sheeting over them.

Right, science time. I'll stick an arm in and waggle it about and see if it falls off with lasers and such. If it doesn't, then...
If the arm does fall off...Frank wrote:Well, seems okay. I'll get your drone for you Nik, then we can all head inside and see what happens.
I kinda want to lose an arm because that's funny.Frank wrote:Aaaargh, the fuck!!! Fucking arm fuck! Fucking lasers!!! Aaaaargh!
Hahaha, that made a wonderful little scene in my mind; Frank being all cocky kicking the door in then getting sheepish suddenly at the idea of actually entering.HereComesPete wrote:Frank stalks over to the door and gives it a shove to see how sturdy it is.
