Shankley mumbles distractedly without moving his unnerved gaze from the birdsplosion;

They are
ANGRY BIRDS™.
They do however appear to be just that - birds. They splash out in a line towards the south-west of the library (represented by the semi-transparent red dots) and then fly around, bunching up two at a time to attack, still trailing blood everywhere. None of them incur Attacks of Opportunity using the paths they took (I checked!).
Bird #4 is being flanked by Thor and Orovan, if one of you attacks it you get +2 to Attack.
Thor is being flanked by Bird #5 and Bird #6, and those birds will have +2 to Attack against him
All birds are on -2 to Attack from Forenrond's Doom arrow (known colloquially as a "Screaming Arrow").
ROUND 5 - Fight!
Birdsplosion!
Glibberig
Forenrond
Thor
Orovan
Bird #1: Misses
Bird #2: Misses
Bird #3: Misses
Bird #4: Hits Orovan with its talons for 1 damage!
Bird #5: Hits Thor with its beak for 1 damage!
Bird #6: Misses
Bird #7: Misses
Bird #8: Misses

Bloody birds.
Go-go Glibberig!

ASSuming it doesn't incur any attacks of opportunity, I shall attack #8 please Cilla. Using my longsword, not done this for a while so I think the following is correct:
Base attack bonus is 0 + Strength modifier (1) + Size modifier 1 = 0 (awesome)
14,+0 = 14
Damage: 6,+0 = Woo!
Edit: Forgot about Bardic Music, so add +1 to all the above
Edit 2: Only woo on damage if it actually hits

It hits all right, with a swing of his blade Glibberig chops one of the birds in twain mid-flight!
Forenrond?
Edit
Actually, forenrond's ready action came before Desmond/The birds, so he's now technically last to go.
ROUND 5 - Fight!
Birdsplosion!
Glibberig
Thor
Orovan
Forenrond
So, Thor please!

Sorry for the delay, I saw your post before you edited it, so thought it was Forerond's turn.
I shall attack the one that attacked me:
Attack:
Roll(1d20)+2+1:
12,+3
Total:15
Dmg:
Roll(1d6)+1+1:
4,+2
Total:6
I shall also draw my kukri. Am I correct that just because I'm holding two weapons it doesn't count as a two-weapon attack unless I actually choose to do say that's what I'm doing?

Sorry about that, I was overloaded on beard over the weekend!
He swings, he hits, the bird's sliced in two!
Yep, you can have something in your offhand and only be at penalty for using it, not for just holding it.
Druid Orovan's up!

I'll pre-empt my turn to get things moving along. Since I dropped my rapier elsewhere I'll drop my bow and grab my dagger, then try to skewer me some bird.
Roll(1d20)+0:
14,+0
Total:14
And if I hit;
Roll(1d4)+0:
2,+0
Total:2

Nice, there are now four feathery, bloody bird corpses thrashing on the ground.
The others hear the squawks of anguish and take flight, giving you all attacks of opportunity.
You both get two attacks of opportunity each, Forenrond and Orovan threatens 2 and 3, Thor and Glibberig threaten 7 and 6.
In short, two attack rolls each, please!

I'll let them go. They're only birds.

Wow, oh wow.
Attack:
18+1 = 19
18+1 = 19
That's just crazy. I am clearly a much better fighter than I thought. Songs will be sung of my battle prowess for years to come (albeit mostly by me)
Damage:
4+1 = 5
6+1 = 7
Fear me, birds!

In hindsight, you can only make one AoO per round. Whoops, gotta learn the rules better.
Glib has dispatched one of his feathery foes though!

Orovan is too busy attempting to hug shankley while sobbing something about the beauty of nature and the gentleness of his kind to even think about making an attack of oppurtunity

Thor tries to look as though he wasn't enjoying himself and nods solemnly at Orovan's words.

Okay, so Thor and Glibberig take down another two birdies as they leap into the air and angle themselves towards the hole in the roof - the remaining two flutter off squawking and shedding dirty black feathers into the open.
Combat's over!

Who'd have thought a gnome could jump so high?
I'll check my doom arrow to see if it survived.
Roll(1d4)+0:
4,+0
Total:4
Yay! Only one down. I'll check out the remains of the gribbly.

It doesn't look good.
Its skull's all blistered and bloated, its jawbone showing with an arrowhead sticking out between its sharp, pointy teeth. Out of the sticky burst-bubble carcass you can make out some ribs, but most of it's insides is squished to bits. There's a leg about two foot in one direction, it's limp and cold. As far as you can tell Desmond is very, very dead.
If you flip him over there's a grotesque, circular face made out of leaking blisters on its back, exposing a little spine down the centre. It's disfigured, and difficult to make out, but from Thoroar's earlier description to the rest of you, you can tell this is the mark of your old friend Erythnul - The Many.
