The "taking 20" thing means that you assume you roll 20 on a skill check, as long as you're unhindered and there's no penalty for failiure.
Searching a 5x5 block takes about 6 seconds. While taking 20 on a search triples it to 18 seconds.
You could do a thorough search of the whole place, between the four concious party members in about fifteen minutes.

I think that's worth doing. Incidentally, I won't be stealing from party members as a matter of course. I did it to Joose because he was leaving the campaign (even if it was temporarily) and he'd probably donate most of it anyway. Consider me his treasurer. Even playing within my character, ninja looting is shitty.

Those who care to retrace Thoroar's steps back to the storage rooms to the south of the dungeon turn up another clear flask of liquid, and 3 tindertwigs, packed off in a little wooden box tied up with string.
Searching the shrine more thoroughly reveals a stone sculpture about as big an apple. It's an eye, and the pupil is made from onyx.
After much fiddling, Forenrond and Glibberig manage to pop open a hatch in the back of the throne that reveals a hoard of treasure, a gush of copper and gold coins spilling out, glinting rubies and sapphires in amongst them.
I'll leave it up to you whether you want to fish the rest out from inside or not.

Holy trapfinding!
Lucky you don't find anything instantly dangerous, but there are a trio of three arrows tied together with a black ribbon.
The arrowheads are made of bone and sharpened to a point, polished carefully till smooth.
You unearth about 20 small gems of various colours and quality, and 4 medium gems, all smoky yellow sunstones.
The coins seem to be in abundance, 300 copper, 170 silver, and a bumper hoard of 500 gold. Some coins are wonderfully old, with portraits of kings that died generations ago, and some are shiny and new, glinting in the light of Orovan's shield.
Lastly, buried beneath all of the coins is an ivory token in the shape of a dove's feather.

I didn't know how many I'd need. Primarily it was the gems, but also the token if it looked ornamental (although to me it looks magical).Grimmie wrote:No, not stuff you already failed on, what did you try to appraise with those rolls?
You fortunately didn't specify
Also, did we dig the magic out of the throne? There might yet be something in it. I'll start trying to cut the bindings and pull it apart.
Shankley glances over at snoozing Thoroar with concern.Shankley wrote:Share the wealth my friends. The gems don't look to be worth much, probably glass. We might be able to fob them off in town but I'm wary of... what's the trade term? Shitting on my own doorstep. Might be worth getting someone with magical knowledge to check out the bric-a-brac.
Shankley wrote:Oh yeah. Anyone mind if we take a little of the gold to get our Summoner back in step? I feel bad, he's sort of my guest.
