Falling Skies looks good in a kind of V/The Stand kind of way - but christ do I hate voiceover guys for trailers.

Red State could be good as long as it doesn't fall into the Michael Moore trap of being just as fundamental as the thing it's preaching about.

Rubber

RUBBER is the story of Robert, an inanimate tire that has been abandoned in the desert, and suddenly and inexplicably comes to life. As Robert roams the bleak landscape, he discovers that he possesses terrifying telepathic powers that give him the ability to destroy anything he wishes without having to move. At first content to prey on small desert creatures and various discarded objects, his attention soon turns to humans, especially a beautiful and mysterious woman who crosses his path. Leaving a swath of destruction across the desert landscape, Robert becomes a chaotic horse to be reckoned with, and truly a movie villain for the ages. Directed by legendary electro musician Quentin Dupieux (Steak, Nonfilm), aka Mr. Oizo

Truly hat stand, sounds better than most of the crap being churned out on multi-million budgets.

Black Death

Solomon Kane and Wicker Man vibe to it.

But which Wicker Man?

Don't care. Has Sean Bean. Sold.

I've seen that, I had high expectations but was a little disappointed after seeing it. Also, my missus kept saying the blonde woman reminded her of Minoes; a Dutch character from a Dutch children's film, I laughed it off and said it was probably a coincidence, but as it turns out it was a Dutch actress. (Carice Van Houten, in case you were wondering.)

I've been swinging back and forth from "Woo!" to "Uhoh" when hearing things about this. The trailer has given me a gentle push back towards to "Woo!" end of the scale. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Hmm, that could be interesting.

I've seen Black Death now and with low expectations I quite enjoyed it. It's better than the similar Solomon Kane, which I switched off.

Arthur remake with Russell Brand has me confused, not sexually. It has some good actors in it, Brand excluded, and the trailer has some mildly amusing bits. But the film could easily turn out to be a pile of shit. For your morbid curiosity here is the trailer:

Dear Russell Brand,

You are not Johnny Depp.

Sincerely yours, Mr. J

Looks pretty good. My worry is that the superhero boom will very soon be followed by a bust - people will eventually get tired of the same things being pumped out. I have a horrible feeling that Green Lantern is the start of it (and yes, I am totally judging it from one short trailer, and yes I will probably see it anyway).

I'll go watch it probably, but by that trailer I won't be expecting too much past some cool action scenes.

Not sure from this trailer but giving it the benefit of the doubt for now. At least there's nothing voiced by Seth Rogen in it.

Still, it looks expressively violent and mad, that'll do.
