I'll walk it, if anyone else is interested?

I misread the path post. I think I stopped reading at "stubbornly refuses to reach ground level". I blame Sprog.

I'll walk.

I need to check out the gore pile. I will approach carefully, Blackhawk out, and investigate.

Hang on. There's some weird crossover here. Deject has two characters in two seperate games digging around in piles of body parts at the same time.

 I didn't think about that. Maybe I need to find a reason for Alvrin to go dumpster diving.

As you're tipping the bodies over with the toe of your boot, one of the lumpen creatures groans again, it's eyes look up at you and go wide as it looks into yours, then it squeals and closes them tight whilst holding its breath.

Hey Doc, would you want to take a look at one of these things while it's still alive? This one hasn't died yet.
I'll ignore it for now, and keep searching for signs of Aysun.

Those walking the path are just reaching the point where the path hits ground level.

Fab - you need to roll Strength 4 Athletics 2 for using the rope.

Deject - despite having a metres cut off the rope is more than long enough.

Deject - Alvrin continues to search the bodies, one or two of them are clutching various bits of torn clothing, some from the co-pilots torn fatigues, some from another set. Nothing stands out in the hold that points to further information. Moving to the cockpit door and shifting the few remaining bodies from the pile should allow you to check the co-pilot body properly.

Roman - Smith is in the flyer, you want to search too?

Yeah I'll go for the cockpit.

I will have a look about and see if I can see any signs of someone being dragged off before getting to the flyer
Perception (5) + Intuition (5) + Actively Looking (3) + vision enhancement rating (2)=5, 1, 6, 3, 4, 2, 6, 5, 6, 4, 5, 5, 6 : 8 hits

I'll search and then do medical pokings on the thing. Bear with me though, I have a horrible sinus infection and I'm feeling really retarded (more so than usual):

Perception (4) + Intuition (4)

2,6,4,5,5,5,2,4 = 4 hits

Medicine (4) + Logic (8)

5,2,1,5,3,6,3,6,2,3,4,3 = 4 hits

Biology (4) + Logic (8)

2,6,2,1,1,6,1,4,6,1,2,1 = 3 hits (a gnat's winky from a glitch there)

Pnut - There's tracks leading in the direction that the birds headed earlier. They're off in the distance right near the centre of the valley, there's lots of foot prints and quite a few blood trails, even at the distance you're observing from you can tell quite a few of the bodies moving through are injured.

Roman -

Smith spots a few holes in the beast, they're quite small as if from flechette or ricochets. The creature is still scrunching its eyes and trying to hold its breath like a child pretending to be dead. Most of it's wounds are relatively minor, they look to have scabbed very quickly. A few reflex tests show it's nervous structure has an increased level of activity, it's (un)naturally very, very fast.

Bloods show a potent cocktail of drugs similar to the stuff drawn from the dead bodies. Patching up the worst hole in its throat the wheezing groans emanating from the creature subside. It hasn't flinched at all during the tests leading smith to believe that it's pain receptors have been altered.

The creature stops scrunching its eyes as Smith cleans and sutures the couple of life threatening wounds, its heart rate drops from a steady hum to something where individual heartbeats can be discerned. It occasionally half opens one eye to have a not very crafty look around.

Smith wrote:Mr. Alvrin, this...creature is fixed up as best I think suitable. It is in no immediate danger of dying - far from it in fact, I believe it to be quite alert. I am unsure of it's vocal chord arrangement, or even if it posses the necessary mental capacity to communicate, but I'm sure you could attempt to question it.

I would advise caution though. It shows an accelerated healing rate and superior reflex actions. I would recommend some sort of restraint. Of course the method of incapacitation is entirely your choice, but if you are short on bonds I can certainly guide you where to administer your blade.

All I have to tie it up with is microwire, which I'm guessing would not be good in that regard. If you tell me where, I'll give it whatever swipes and jabs we need to keep it from being a problem.

I'm sure there's a clause in it somewhere pertaining to avoiding having your face eaten by biological mutant nightmares. I think I'll only come a cropper if I try to sleep with it.

Jon is now at the bottom of the slope.

Deject, you want Alvrin to follow Smith's instructions?

Sure. Do I need to roll anything?
