Re: 5punkyBEEF Server
I actually got accused of being a cheater yesterday - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/ba ... 175438247/ (#2 on RU side)
It did say it was a n00b friendly server though and they were rubbish. I started to feel a bad when I kept seeing nemesis victim scores come up.

Some impressive scores on the other team - 6 for 23 and 6 for 24.

Re: 5punkyBEEF Server
If he is cheating then I'd say he was really subtle about it, because his SPM isn't that much higher than mine, and I'm far from the best player around. Someone paying attention to what's going on and has an idea where there are enemies (don't forget about MAVs and T-UGS) can get really close to approximating a wallhax. Throw in some pro-level aiming skills and it's very easy to look like you're hacking. He does have a ridiculous amount of time played, so if someone is dedicated enough I can see this being legit.
I can't say really either way, since I literally only saw him one time (C4'ing an APC) so I couldn't tell you one way or the other. If he is, it's only giving him a slight edge.

Re: 5punkyBEEF Server
Spontaneous blast last night with mixed results ended the day on a reasonable high after the low of being kicked straight in the testicles on my arrival at work yesterday morning.
Not sure when that patch hits, but there was some rather strange behaviour last night. Blatant shots not registering when clearly the aim was bang on the bloke in front not that far away. It was either lagging really badly or I had blanks in the rifle, and was really struggling to finish people at range - but I am just wondering if that is my fault for using the hSAg80.
Some particularly good whining as well from a chap. "Chargenut you camper noob, big fat nooby noober etc" 1) not sure how you are supposed to play as defence on rush if you are not allowed to protect the stations. 2) said whiner then killed him with a grenade launcher. Oh the irony.

Re: 5punkyBEEF Server
Chargenut was one of the better players on the server last night, gave me great glee when I pounded him into the ground on one of the rush rounds. There was one chap who sat on a motar 24/7 on your spawn point though, annoying bastard.
Tell you what though, I can't wait for the patch to buff the .44 (and .357 Rex) so I can get some handgun ribbons, it's like an utter pea shooter at long range and too slow/not enough damage at close range to come out on top even if you get the drop on someone and shoot first.

I have to say the M9 and the MP-443 are really awesome. They fire as fast as you can click and are reasonably accurate. Outside of long range, which only the .44 Scoped is of any use, you can be quite effective. Just use the sights and dump bullets as fast as you can, aiming at head level is recommended.buzzmong wrote:Chargenut was one of the better players on the server last night, gave me great glee when I pounded him into the ground on one of the rush rounds. In most cases I'd use the .357 REX over the regular .44 Mag, due to the higher RoF though.

Re: 5punkyBEEF Server
I'm quite fond of the MP-443, but I mostly use my pistols as a panic weapon so something with a fast rate of fire is higher up on my list. Oddly enough, the G18 isn't as useful for this role as I thought it would be.

Re: 5punkyBEEF Server
Well, the recoil with the G18 is a bit ridiculous (as it should be), but it's totally capable. I've gotten service stars with the suppressed and regular versions. If I wasn't making myself use different weapons, I'd equip the suppressed G18 always. If you don't need the close up full auto fire, it's basically the G17C in single fire, just without the laser sight.

Re: 5punkyBEEF Server
I carry the g18 when I'm snippy snapping. It's good for long range plinks and aiming at chest and panic firing if you get into a terrible dander.
The magnum seems to possess bullets that take a leisurely stroll to their intended target, they sometimes even stop for a nap or to enjoy the panoramic Fista. I would be wary of hardcore servers and magnum usage, you might well fire then sprint forward and end up shooting yourself.

Doggers has failed his assignment - he was specifically told to punch you in the testicles. I'd hoped he'd at least get one knuckle in!Jimmington wrote:after the low of being kicked straight in the testicles on my arrival at work yesterday morning.

Oh, yeah, the Rex is certainly a capable weapon, it's the gun I've got the most kills withdeject wrote:I have to say the M9 and the MP-443 are really awesome. Might swap to the MP443 or G18 for ribbon scoring though.

Re: 5punkyBEEF Server
I've been service star whoring, so my near 7k kills are spread across many weapons which now have one service star apiece while the Rex and Knife both edging towards 250 kills each, mostly because I keep the Rex as my go-to pistol and the knife is omnipresent anyway.

Re: 5punkyBEEF Server
Ah yeah you mentioned that when we were playing last time. I only have 6 primary weapons without Service Stars, and the PP-19 only needs 7 more kills for that one, and about half way with two others. I have yet to kill anyone with the L96 because I don't like sniping at all.

He was too concerned that a punch to the lower regions could be construed as flirting so opted for a penalty kick instead.Roman Totale wrote:Doggers has failed his assignment - he was specifically told to punch you in the testicles. Re: 5punkyBEEF Server
I do like the internet sometimes.
Reading the comments on the latest BF3 DLC - The comments seem to be in the majority, where is my patch, with a sparse wow cool one DICE, a couple of nerf frag rounds and then people just sprinking numbers all the way through it.
I think I would deffo have to think twice on buying any extra content, I would say it would be very price dependent.
In other news, on the whole some enjoyable games last night. Rush was a massacre for the other team time and time again which is nice - for the winning team - and the epic 53 hour conquest map straight after was good as well, even i was getting annoyed with the cock who had glitched using the MAV. Luckily he was getting slated by his own team as well. I am not sure what happened to the rest of you, believe it was only Pete who made it to the end, i guess the rest of you just fell asleep at the keyboard...

Re: 5punkyBEEF Server
Most people were leaving because it was turning into a grind (and they were tired), myself included. I just got battered all night, after it took me 15 minutes to get onto the server.
I'm not that interested in the DLC. The indoor one looks like they're trying to run maps like Counterstrike, which holds no interest for me whatsoever. I'd buy it for new toys at the right price. I think the second one is more like Armoured Furry, which could be very good and if it looks like it will be I'll probably buy. The third is unannounced, so I don't know.

Re: 5punkyBEEF Server
Just had a look at the trailer for BF3:COD DLC. I can safely say, that looks absolutely awful. Even in the trailer they have got a guy with a RPG strolling about because they know that will probably be the number one weapon to be using. It looks great that you can shoot tables and chairs in a map the size of a gnat's cock, but if anything would return me to my peripheral smashing days, that DLC could be the one.
