Re: 5punky Memories
Also, let me know if you want me to have a look at any wordpress-ings, I've been dicking around with them at work recently.
Re: 5punky Memories
That would be great, thanks. Unfortunately the borkage also means I can't give you admin permissions because I get the same error

Re: 5punky Memories
Okay, I fixed the bork. It was, unsurprisingly, the PHPBB bridge which links the accounts between the front (WP) page and the forums. I've manually disabled it by renaming the plugin folder, so new users on the forum won't be logged on to the front page, and there might be some weird logon issues on the FP for existing users. I'm holding off replacing that plugin until FJ's happy I won't fuck up the forum (because there's a a fair chance I would, and that's not an acceptable risk).
In the meantime, that means I've been able to give Tezz admin permissions. So feel free to unfuck it.
EDIT: And why is WP authentication called nonce? WTF Wordpress?

Re: 5punky Memories
Always a tricky one to do research on is the Nonce. This goes some way to explain what the issue might have been. With regards to the impact on the rest of the front page, I can't login anymore (can't see the login widget) nor can I log in normally on /login - to be expected I suppose. If you have this in hand I'll leave you to it, otherwise let me know. I took a backup of the WP install late last night too, should anything go awry.Dog Pants wrote:Okay, I fixed the bork. Re: 5punky Memories
Umm, I've not so much got it in hand as not fucked the entire site. I've dropped a logon plugin in there, it should hopefully let people manually log in. Once I've finished the birthday post I can reenable the PHPBB bridge if need be, but that might take a bit longer because I need to go to bed and I've not even started on CODUO yet.

Re: 5punky Memories
I should have mentioned about witnessing the conception and birth of 5punk. WEY had started a discussion on the talk board of B3ta and was throwing around ideas. Given the numbers theme of B3ta and 4rthur, user Hankman suggested 5punk - a perfect fit. Some handsome bastard then suggested the tag line of "the gaming equivalent of a kick around in the park" (though that may have been a separate thread on 5punk itself).

Quick! Anyone got any old screenshots of our shooter antics> Cod, BEEF, CSS. If anyone has a bath screenshot that would be awesome. Ta!

Re: 5punky Memories
I think I'm almost on the second gen on that score. One of my pals (GF's daughter) who's a never-posting lurker has just produced her own mini-5punker this year and you can be sure I'll be coaching him in our 5punky ways. My nephew's also nearing the point (given his existing exposure to GTA/Saint's Row) whereby he might be able to join in sometime.Dog Pants wrote:How many children do we have now? All three birthday blog posts are now on the front page. Fucking hell, that was epic. It's taken me days.
