What's the current date? Can't hurt to nonchalantly ask about him from his previous couple squads if he was with them recently.

Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
If you look at the dates, he has only ever done a few days at a time with any of them, possibly in the financier role?

Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
Do I know anything more about him, perhaps our paths have crossed in the finance business?
Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
Ah! You've arrived prematurely. Not a problem, hang on...
Incidentally, your part of the intro (and Jock's). You've been monging about taking shitty BPNs for a month or so now. At first they were boring, low paid, menial. The last couple were more interesting - a Darknight shootout and a serial killer hunt. Both went pretty well, but neither were really your thing and queuing in the sweaty BPN halls for six hours a day just to get those jobs has been something of a chore. Luckily for both of you someone you know out there has given you a bump up and put you in touch with a financier by the name of Jacob Haynes. You've never heard of him, but your contact tells you he's an ex-combat financier, bit of a bastard, but has a very good reputation. When you contact him he lives up to some of his reputation by flatly refusing to take you on, but after namedropping your contact he says you can get in on a nice BPN which has just come in with one of his more experienced squads. Both of you get a copy of the BPN, Kotter gets an address in Uptown to meet the rest of the squad, Jock gets a phone number for the squad leader.
Roleplay that if you like, up to you. In answer to your question, could you make a SLA Info roll please? You'll need a good one but there's always a chance you've heard of him.Haynes, to Grimmie wrote:Mr Grimbola. I need you to take on a couple of replacements of mine. Recent acquisitions, they need a good BPN to try them out, get them a bump for their reputation. I'm sending one over to the brief in Central, a Wraith financier called Kotter. Shouldn't be hard to spot. The other is a Frother so I'll send him in after the brief if I can find him.

Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
We have to be the most flexible squad on Mort, able to swap our roster out as needed :D
Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
It does take a little deus ex machina. Haynes' other squads are a bit interchangeable too.

Well gents, looks like we're going to take out some more trash. No, I'm not going to sit on him.
Let's meet up with this new chum* that Haynes has lined up for us and see what good they are.
*chum as in chumming the water for sharks, not the other kind.

There's a pause.Grimmie wrote:Oh, okay. Cool. A frother.
I'll get the gang together and call Marlow on the way to arrange a meeting. We can thrash details out later at a diner or something, it'd be good to get the contact's take on the job before we jump to any conclusions.Grimmie wrote:Not like the last one right?

Assuming we have a meeting point I will head on over that way.God I hope not.
Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
You don't know him, but it all sounds a little familiar. You remember chatting to some guy in your favourite bar, one mostly frequented by other Business Finance Ops, who was telling you about all the weird people he's met. One was a financier who was attached to a squad of Sector Rangers. He always used to say it was the easiest gig on the planet because there was no bureaucracy in the Cannibal Sectors, but he wasn't convincing anyone. He always had a slightly nervous edge. You got the guy at the bar's number (as a business contact, Wraiths don't generally go in for dating humans and vice-versa) and he thinks the guy was called Conrad something or something Conrad.emeraldsub wrote:Roll(2d10)+8:

Marlow speaks to you long enough to tell you where his office is. Another corporate arsehole.

Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
Absolutely nothing. You've never heard of him, none of your financier buddies ever have either. SLA is a big firm so that's not incriminating as such, but usually you can ask around and if someone is in the habit of issuing BPNs then he'll be heard of somewhere.

Yup!
Maybe we should let Hal do the introductions. Do we find Kotter or our contact first?

Re: SLA Industries: Cannibal Heart
Kotter's waiting in reception at the Dept of Reeducation. Feel free to introduce yourselves, neither party has trouble identifying the other.

I'm casually leaning against a wall in the lobby, busying myself with a yoyo. Occasionally looking up to see if my new coworkers are here yet. I don't think they'll miss me; a 6 ft purple wraith wearing a sharp black pinstripe suit.
