It's not as good as the Mass Effect MP
Re: Team Fortress 2: Co-op
Servers are doing a massive shit-their-pants moment right now.

I can't do this tonight, alas. But tomorrow I'm on it like a... an automobile hood. or something.

Re: Team Fortress 2: Co-op
Well, this is nails, and has queues longer than something very long indeed.
How do the official servers compare?

Don't think we made it past the 5th wave last night - it is bloody tough. Queues are also crazy.

Made wave 6 with randoms, it was insane. Gave up.

Re: Team Fortress 2: Co-op
Managed to get to 8 with randoms, by purest fluke. I believe there are no waves after 8 because none are needed. You will never get to them.
Re: Team Fortress 2: Co-op
I bought one of those tickets (and the item boasting thing), so I can join the official servers. I don't know that it make any difference, there's still a wait. I'm happy to pay a small price for this clever re-tooling of the game and at this rate I'm unlikely to finish all waves and cash them in. For now anyway.
You can make on of the boaster canteens with 4 x scrap metal, which I've just done.

Re: Team Fortress 2: Co-op
Got to the last wave with randoms earlier but didn't finish it - really, really difficult. I've seen a couple of posts on the Steam forums with people complaining it's "too easy". They either play too much or they're just show offs.
Re: Team Fortress 2: Co-op
I spoke too soon and somehow managed to finish the first mission I joined after posting this. I guess we were just organised enough to stumble through and I was super awesome at laying down towers sentries while somehow not dying much, or something.spoodie wrote:I'm unlikely to finish all waves and cash them in.
People who are saying this is easy are probably in well organised teams, have discovered reasonable strategies and are TF2 nerds. And also people who rush as fast as possible through single-player games, ignoring side-stuff, then complain the game is too short.

Re: Team Fortress 2: Co-op
Still not played it yet - any good?
Re: Team Fortress 2: Co-op
It's balls hard. Any time I've played with 5punkers we're lucky to get to wave 3 of 7.

Re: Team Fortress 2: Co-op
I think we made wave 4 earlier, doing pretty well with a few randoms and a few 5punkers, but pleasantly bastard hard.

Closest thing to an actual tip I can muster: the Brass Beast is almost a must for the Heavy in MvM
