Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
I'll assume everyone else has made their way over to Downtown and is following, unless anyone wants to spend the entire BPN in the cafe?

I'd like to see an alternative history where Rosa Parks was a Stormer. The Shutting Downs wrote:Hal and Deej have transport, I think Grimmie and Dirk fit in Hals car, Eraser had to get the bus

I forgot to mention, that's some ace artwork of the factory entrance. Did you draw that Pants?
I'll switch on the UV and check the joint out.

Not quite, I found a source image of semi-disused Russian missile test facility and potatoshopped it. I'm not talented enough to actually draw.
The loading bay is pretty much empty aside from the sodden debris and detritus you have to pick your way through. Across the other side of the room is another, similar pedestrian door and three meter-square holes in the wall in a row beside it.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
So we're supposed to be looking for data flow? It looks like we'll probably be in here for a bit. Should we split up and look around?

Hal will indeed have followed in the car, giving a lift to whoever wants one. I'm not going to stay sat in my car this time, although I will be making sure the big fellas are going ahead
Actually, could Dirk spare one of his remote cameras? We could hide it in the car to keep an eye out for miscreants messing with either the car or deej's bike.

Dirk will hand over a mini-cam and flip his infra-red monocle down. Eye spy...

Time for the Ebb Disco Ball!
Free floating orb that illuminates a 30m area (with Illumination Gem). Also, is anything appearing on my motion scanner or audio enhancements that I completely forgot I had?

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
Nope, nothing. The light reflects off the filthy, dripping water but nothing else is moving. You can't hear anything but the drip-drip of the water and the muffled noises of the city outside.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
Let's start with the meter-square holes, since there isn't anything obvious here.
Detect (5): 2, 4 + 5 = 11

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
As it happens they all look to lead into the same room. Rusting ranks of rollers lead down from the holes to the level below, covered in the rotting remains of a rubber belt. Beyond, the rollers continue into the murk. Each line is flanked on both sides by decaying stacks of shelves covered in the unidentifiable remains of whatever was held on there, and above hang limp mechanical limbs which once performed whatever monotonous task went on here. You also notice, upon approaching the holes, a slight background of electronic noise in your headset.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
I'll try and walk the room to see if the noise gets louder or more intense in any particular. First, I'll start by picking appropriate x and y axises, then using any info from that to try to isolate where the noise is strongest.Sounds like we're on the right track.

Re: SLA Industries: Binary Soul
Walk around the loading bay? It's only really audible near the holes, and even then it's very quiet. You can use your climbing gear to get higher and it seems to fade out again as you climb.
